So...my windows partition has recently, I'm unsure how, become infected with the "Total Security" virus/adware/whatever it is. I already had to remove this EXACT problem from a friends computer, and it was relatively easy. Boot in safe mode...run Malware Bytes...problem gone!

But...on my computer...I'm unable to boot into safe mode! I've never had this problem before. When I choose to boot in safe mode, it simply cycles through all the files it loads...then at a certain point my monitor cuts out...and the booting process starts over. I'm at a loss here, as in normal mode, "Total Security" has my processes on a lockdown, I can't run any programs that would help me get rid of this(Malware Bytes, FireFox, Process Manager, ANYTHING).

Any and all help appreciated. For now I'm using this as an opportunity to continue setting up my Linux partition

Try first using Process Ninja to kill tsc.exe, or altering Malwarebytes. (such as adding junk data to the end with a hex editor and renaming the .exe)

Files you will need to delete:

Registry entries you will need to delete:

Pop in your XP disc, do a repair install. (NOT THE REPAIR CONSOLE!)
That'll clean your Windows directory, emptying it and putting a new install in it but your program files and documents won't be touched.

If it still won't boot into Safe Mode or let you run certain software, there is likely a registry entry that needs removing.
