I need a program that would have an alarm or maybe a pop-up box that I set to a certain time and it reminds me when something happens. It also needs to have the ability to schedule far, like something that would happen in a month.

Your PC has this built in, just open up control panel and look for 'Scheduled Tasks'. Pretty straightforward to use.
