Looks like a hell of a lot of fun, and i'm actually close to the border of QLD at the moment. If I had known about it, I might have given it a shot.

Good luck to all the teams in it!

I'd love to do something like that, even if it was just a solo effort - I'd be the guy floating over peoples shoulders trying to steal ideas.

I'll go to the next convention that has a game speed-coding competition... Batvink?

It's actually a lot of fun, and extremely informative. There are three pro teams, and they are all very approachable. Our team has a bit of industry experience, and a lot of talent - combine that with the 16 other teams, most willing to share knowledge - and it just gets awesome.

Also, Darkbasic Professional is being used by 3 teams I think? They don't go on the forums much, but it has been a blast for me, connecting with DBPro users for the first time. Generally, a lot of fun.

In the video feed, we are the team on the bottom right hand corner...I am the guy on the right side at the top - white shirt

Somebody is cheating... it looks like somebody spiked the drinks of the Pro Teams... they're all passed out on the floor!

Hey guys,

Just an update to all those who are interested - The competition is over, and was pretty much to most enjoyable two days I have had in a long time.

The team I was in won the "Best Concept" category, which I was pretty proud of. We had talks with some of the pro teams, and they were equally impressed with our game, and told us to develop it further.

The event was amazingly enjoyable, and most people would come away saying that they learnt a lot about themselves and game development after it! Also, some great contacts were made.

HERE IS THE GAME

that my team made, titled "The Great Migration - Big Love".

When you play it, MAKE SURE you read the tutorial pages fully. It wasn't well written, but needs to be read lol.

Some release notes -

1}Remember the planet view and check it to go to other nodes.
2)It's not in the tutorial pages, but to delete an orb, drag it off the screen.
3) Run the game in windowed mode - 1024x768 for best results

Enjoy

The other games will be released soon, and I will put a link up here to that.

Regards,
Greenlig

Looks very very shiny - the gameplay is kind of repetitive, though. I assume it isn't exactly done?

Nah, not done yet Our team is getting together in the next few weeks to discuss possible outcomes for this, as we were approached by some of the Pro guys and strongly urged to complete it and publish it.

Thanks for playing it
