This program is not a really helpful program, but it's pretty fun

Quote: "Reinvent your desktop.

BumpTop™ is a fun, intuitive 3D desktop that keeps you organized and makes you more productive. Like a real desk, but better. Now with awesome mouse and multi-touch gestures!"

The program is free to use pro is not really worth it right now, just something interesting to occupy your time with.

Video is on the website.

(Attached is my BumpTop)

Edit: And it's updated!

Interesting. Can you still use your own desktop backgrounds?

Yep, the program is split into a box with out a top, with a floor, left, right, forward and backward. You just pick an image for each and you can just select your background as the floor or pick the option that says use my windows desktop.

So it's just a cube primitive?

I'm working on Swordfight again! Come tell me what you think!

To me it looks fun, it's pretty for the most part. I can't operate off just my desktop though. I prefer a clean tidy desktop for when I'm not doing anything. Once I start working on something my programs cover the desktop completely and I operate off menus and windows rather than from the desktop itself. Much more efficient. This would be fun to play with for sure, just kinda silly and not really an effective method of being organized.

For me it's quite the opposite I find this method to make me much for organized, because with a regular desktop I am limited to a grid and all the icons are the same size. Just me though what ever suits you best

How did you get your desktop icons on Bumptop? When I installed and ran it the only things I get are the My Computer icon and the Recycle Bin. I have over 40 icons on my desktop and not one of them showed up on the Bumptop.

Odd, try this.
1. Go to C:\Users\Your User Name\Desktop
2. High light all the icons
3. Run BumpTop
4. Drop all of them into it

Unfortunately I have never had this problem so you might have to re-situate your icons

Also since most of the default icons are low-res you want want to go here: http://www.iconspedia.com/, the icons go up to 256x256 and there is high res version of a programs icon on that website. To change a shortcuts icon right click on it go to -> more -> change icon. Also disable "show shortcut arrow" in visuals for a better looking bumptop in settings.

Odd, I close it down then started it again and now all my icons are there. Thanks anyway Raving, I'm actually quite liking this.

I used it for a while, but it got cluttered and it wasn't very fond of my dual display setup. But it's a really cool idea!

So far that's the only downside for me. I am a lot more organized with this, but they haven't added dual monitor support yet.

It looks quite cool so I'm gonna try it out =)

What would be cool, is if you could have an option between a sphere or cube where the camera was in the middle, and you could pan around it to select your icon. It could be a little confusing, but I would definitely use it then =)

This is great. It works way better than my old XP desktop.
