I ran the demo. It looked good, but I encountered speed issues, and a strange glitch where the text in the menu were just white boxes, the cursor wasn't appearing properly, and in-game the health and ammo meters had the same problems. In other words, the images aren't pasting properly.

@PW Productions - I edited a handful of textures, but I didn't make any from scratch. The gantries are really the only obvious edit. Thanks for the complement!

@Yodaman Jer - Interesting. It's something that I'll look into, although I haven't heard any other complaints in this area. It sounds like all of the .DDS files aren't working for you.

@Bugsy - Alright. I'll add in those supports.

@Fuzz - Added in your buffet table to the second level. Man, it really makes a difference.

@Beta Testers - I am about halfway done remaking the second level, so once that's done, I'll send a new beta out for you to test out.

@Everyone else - Once I get feedback on the first and second levels and get them as good as I can, I'll move on to level three and four. After those are tested and "proofread", if you will, I'll release it. In the overall scheme of things, this will be just a demo for a much larger game. I'm just wanting to get something out there for you guys to play, as it keeps me responsible for working on the game.

[Off Topic]
The mbd_update, Molten Byte Design's seasonal newsletter, is almost done for Fall. I'm really excited about the content, and we should have a good issue. I've also found out a way to decrease the file size of the PDF dramatically. Right now, it's about the size of one of the old Gunn3r Games Informer issues (which were about 11MB). This time around, it's about 600KB. I think that's a bit more manageable.

Looks very awesome, reminds me of Nova Prospekt from HL2 for some reason.

That last screenshot defiantly has a nova prospekt theme. Tiled floor, pale yellow lighting and jail-cells.

Its a good day to do what has to be done by me and help my brother to defeat the enemies

Well, I have some really bad news. Yesterday, my laptop essentially died. I couldn't start it without it BSoDing. I managed to boot into safe mode, compress my FPSC folder into a 7z file, and upload it to ADrive.com, a free online backup web service. After installing the full version of Windows 7, I went to ADrive to redownload everything that I had backed up. My FPSC folder is no where to be found. I have lost all progress on Eternal. Luckily, I do have another backup of before I started on Eternal (So Emergence isn't all gone, and I don't have to redownload ALL of my models), but eternal itself is gone. I will be attempting to remake it. However, I will be making it a bit different. Instead of large, heavily detailed rooms, I'll focus more on the combat itself, and get the actual gameplay going a lot better. Hopefully the momentum that I had going for this game does go away. I'll get working ASAP on a new version. I've got some good ideas that I want to try out.

That sucks. But I see where your coming from with improving the gameplay rather than making rooms look pretty.

Man I'm really sorry to hear that, just recently suffered through the same ordeal with my PC but losing Eternal is really unfortunate. Focusing on gameplay is not a bad idea, there wasn't anything too wrong with the previous flow of things but I suppose if you worked it right, well, re-worked it to be more specific, you could get some interesting and really cool things going. Toss me an email if you want help with anything or need some thoughts on somethin' man, hope everything goes well this time, I'll still be right along for the ride for sure.

Cheers

Thanks for the support guys. Braden, do you happen to have some sort of instant messaging client (Skype, MSN... etc.)? It's be great to bounce some ideas off you, if you don't mind.

Yeah for sure, I use MSN and it's just the same email you sent the beta test via. Add me at your convenience.

Why do PC's always crash when you are making the most important thing.

Ouch! That's a huge bummer!

I think I still have the first demo you released on my other computer...so if you need any of your media again I can probably send it to you via email. Just say the word and it'll be on its way.

I actually think I redownloaded everything on my computer again. I'm just drawing out some new design plans of level ideas I have floating around in my head. Should be a pretty cool remake, if everything goes according to plan.

Really good to hear you're getting some concepts together man, sorry I haven't been able to get MSN working on my PC correctly for some reason, if you could toss me an email with those questions you had I'd really love to help answer them, and give you any help you might be looking for still.

Just a quick post of some new screenshots. I've been more active on the Molten Byte Design forums with this, so some of these screens have been up for a couple days, but this is what I've got so far.

Actually, the wires go into the concrete. The walls are sloped, so it blends in quite nicely. Thanks for the comment, though. I'm havin' a lot of fun making this game, and I've got some great things planned up for it.

They've already been made by my texture artist. I'm just waiting on them, as well as the segments to be compliant with the MP38 shaders, and then the ball will be rolling. I just realized that the story on this thread is outdated, and no longer the real one. The real story as well as a complete look at the features can be found here:

mmm i played the demo gunn3r
here is my review:

Gameplay:
3/10
simply the worst.. the enemies didnt stop shooting me and they killed me in 2 seconds

Lighting:
9/10
it rocked, how did you made the lights fit the best in the ambience

Graphics:
10/10
they rocked,of course PB make evrything rock, but not like this game.. strongest point just a minor detail and its to change the ceiling to be different to the floor ;D

Sound:
10/10
again one of the strongest points,it fitted the best with the game..

Overall
8/10
I enjoy'ed it... BOTB Quality!
