It's fast approaching 10 years of The Game Creators, and this is the start of the celebrations. We want you to design the Newsletter Cover for the next, very special edition. You've got until Midnight, Thursday 29th October to impress, and leave your mark in TGC's history books. The artist behind the winning cover will also be rewarded with 10 TGC products of their choice!

We don't want to stifle your creativity, there's just a few guidelines to follow:

1. It's a big celebration, make sure you celebrate with your design
2. Keep it family-friendly
3. It needs to represent the last 10 years of TGC. There are plenty of screenshots and media scattered around the site and in the forums to help yourself to.

Take a look at the template below, it gives you an idea of the space already reserved for other elements. DO NOT include this in your design, just provide your 500 x 600 image (preferably larger but to the same proportions).

This is all being done in the community spirit we are accustomed to, so please post your designs here as and when they are completed. You can create more than one design, just don't litter the thread with every thought that enters your head!

Good Luck! The winner will be chosen by TGC and will appear on November 1st.

Hey hey, competition closes on my birthday too. How coincidental. Guess I'd better fire up photoshop - and happy birthday TGC.

this is my entry - i'm not sure about the fireworks at the top, can you tell what they are? The idea was to make them look pixely and a bit retro Also I think the grass may be a bit too green but maybe i'm being over critical xD

EDIT: fixed the shadow now.

It looks good blobby.
Except the shadow might need to point to the left, since it's on the left side of the sun.

Don't forget, Bond1's new model pack is an obvious choice for headline. Use his supplied image or take your own from the awesome HD teaser.

Here's my entry. Sorry for the size, but it needs to be big so you can see all the details. *wink* Took two days of gathering over 1100 images of screenshots of projets made from TGC products. Most of them are from the main TGC gallery, others from the forums. This is my first mosaic image, lot of fun to make.

Good luck to all the other entry's!

P.S. If anyone wants to see a larger version with more pictures, I can render one no problem.

Hey Soldier, talking like that won't win you prizes.

You never know what they are looking for in an entry! Take for example retail magazines, when they mark a special occasion you will find they make use of type over image to make that prominent anniversary or issue number stand out.

Go for a bold design which uses type to sell the message, something bright and which pays close attention to the reserved spaces in the template in the first post.

You can do it!

Yes, though it is slightly different, and so I consider it more a reference than actually being the cake. Also, with little time I needed a cake and this is what came up in my head right away.
