Before we start this is a team request and a general description of the game in progress. According to th rules it says post them in here.

Anyway here is what I need. I need someone good with photoshop for general art alterations etc. I have 5 main single player acts. I want to give each act a custom load on screen and spalsh. The pics will be themed according to the time period the act will depict.

Act 1 Spalsh:
What I need on act one would be a nice pymid or something with a nice gold leaf or green leaf border. An a slave building it.

Act 2:
I would like to see a medievil battle in progress. A knight on a horse slaying the enemy. Perhapps mid way through beheading a man. In the distance a castle on fire.

Act 3:
Two options here. You could go with a western wild west theme. Or a civil war battle field pic.

Act 4:
I would like two pics side by side. Left side ww1 solider in a dirty trench struggling to live. Right side a ww1 solider fighting on the beach of normandy. In the distance fire and bodies of fallen brothers.

Act 5:
World trade center towers on fire. Or a pic of soliders in the middle east fighting in a battle.

Moderators please email me before locking if again this is the wroung place to request team or help. Anyone else interested please visit http://ultimaonlineknights.no-ip.org/ This is our website. The forums work or you can email us from there as well. thank you.

I would suggest that you wait until you ahve a solid design document before asking for a team. Right now you are asking people to give up their time on a project that is nothing more than 5 bullet points. You are not showing any commitment to the project on your part. If you had evidence that you were getting started, or at least had something in place already, people might be more swayed to help (and not lock)

and your website link didn't work.

Its not looking good old_school

Quote: "I have 5 main single player acts."

Do you have the 5 acts coded or do you plan on having 5 acts?

If ideas/plans are all you have it isn't good enough. Game ideas/stories are a dime a dozen. Besides, 5 embryonic thoughts don't make a full game idea.

I don't know what "rules" you've read, but here is the page on team requests.
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=team_requests

Good luck with your project, though!

[EDIT]
Neeener Neeeener Neeener ... the lock police are coming!

Your FPSC WIP post got locked for this type of request, why would you put one up here? KeithC even linked to the same page I did. :/

Is this an FPSC game? In which case it ought to go in the forums for FPSC.

As an absolute minimum, you must edit your first post so that it gives the correct URL, and also add some screenshots, because no-one's going to be bothered enough to follow the link if you don't give them some immediate inducement to do so. Plus, if you've looked at the guidelines for the WIP forum, you'll know that screenshots or other clear evidence of progress are a requirement for making a thread here.

Also, I hate to say it, but you would be very well advised to get someone who can spell to correct your website. Terrible spelling like that (and fragmentary sentences) screams "amateur", "sloppy", and "doesn't care about getting details right".

There allready is a post with pics and it was locked. As for spelling. Sorry grammer/spelling not my strong point. Anyway the web site I posted has everything anyone would need to know. An to be honest. Ive never seen such a game engine site so chaotic.

Some people our nice. Others mostly not so nice. An I go to other FPS sites. Nothing like this one. I understand people here try to help others which is nice. But some just seem to be out to just flat out downgrade people. Just my two sense on that topic

Anyways as for editing the post. I will try to edit the orginal link. Keep in mind. I have a real job besides this. So my time is slim to make minor adjustments to things I deem not important.

I spend most of my time on fixing bugs and making maps. So not to sound rude. But when I post, Im really pressed for time. Plus I dont like repeating my self a hundred times. So if someone truely is interested in helping. I have several posts made allready about this project. An I have completed various other projects allready as well.

Now I know this as well will come up. So before anyone says "well if your so busy with your real job, why you making a game?". Well I dont have time. But I make time. Besides the project is finished. It just needs art. So all the hard stuff is completed. I just need help with some minor things. Im not asking for help to fly to the moon or anything. Just asking for a little help with some minor art stuff.

Yep...

well you can see why people were off with you:
1)There are loads of dead posts and people making threads about Phantom projects, that never exist
2) The majorety of people who post things like the thread I mentioned in (1) are young kids, kids who can't spell and have poor grammar....like yours
3) You need to post evidence of your game here - you didn't

So sure you posted a link, but it was dead, so there was literally nothing on your game.
Quote: "Anyway the web site I posted has everything anyone would need to know. An to be honest"

well, everything except screenshots! Or gameplay video! If this is not your first project, then you should know that you are unlikely to get many downloads unless people can see that their 300MB is going to be worth playing. And you're not going to excite people with 2 badly phrased paragraphs and some photoshopped stock images. People want to see the game

Quote: "An I go to other FPS sites. Nothing like this one. "

That might be something to do with the fact you're not on an FPSC board right now.

Most people here do. It's the best way to get money to pay for things. I make games in my evenings too, and I make forum posts here. It doesn't take that long to put up some screen shots, get your links correct and check your spelling right. Surely if you were proud of this project you'd want to take the time to show some screens of your nicely designed levels and characters?!

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents (cents, as opposed to sense. Its a bastardisation of the English phrase - "that's just my 2 penneth". 2 cents being equivalent in US currency). I'm going to take the time to download and play your demo. And I'll post screenshots here for everyone. I hope it's worth the download!

On your site there is a picture for Battle of Ages and it says "UOK Gamers Copyright 2009". I strongly suggest removing that for the military people are probably ripped from something and the spartan soldiers from 300 are definitely ripped. Also I'm not saying this to be a pain, but
1. It's illegal
2. It makes it look unprofessional and rather childish (I'm assuming you don't want either)

Then you should wait until you have time, and do it properly. I'm saying this to try to help, not to be negative for its own sake. The thread you make here is what's going to attract attention to your project and get you the help that you're looking for. Don't you think it's kind of important to make a thread that will attract people? Isn't it worth taking just a little bit of time, and making just a little bit of effort, to do that and to show people why this project is worth their time? If you make a slapdash thread, with broken links and no images, then you're saying: "I'm making no effort to attract anyone to this project" - and that can only be because either you don't care much about the project or you don't care much about the people you're pitching it to. Either way, it's rude. It is insulting to the people who have bothered to look at the thread, and this is why you're getting the criticism that you're seeing here. A thread like this is supposed to get people interested in a project, not treat them like they should already be interested.

Are you saying the final image is copyrighted? Because if so then you obviously didn't understand my post, and should probably read it over again.

old_School you're getting nowhere. No matter how much you might dislike it, the fact remains that if you put zero effort into showing us your creation, we'll put even less effort into trying to see it ourselves, let alone give you any sort of attention.

We see this happen maybe... a dozen times a year, if not more (really, it never fails). New users come on, throw up a quick post of their ideas for a game with little to show for whats actually been done. The community tries to help them realize their error, they lash out in either anger or embarrassment - or some combination of the two - resulting in the entire thread going to waste and the original poster leaving the boards.

Think of it this way. If you're so pressed for time that you can't even bother to spend the extra few seconds it takes to do a spell check on your post - or better yet just read your post over yourself - why in the world would any of us give you the time of day to even continue reading your post, let alone look into the download?

One last tip - creating fake companies and fake copyrights might seem like the cool thing to do when you're just starting out (almost everyone does it at least once, usually some descriptive word with a suffix of "games" or "studios" at the end ) really just ends up causing even more doubt in your project in the community's eyes. 99% of the users here can spot a fake company in a second, and I would be hard pressed to say yours was any different based on that site and your level of professionalism.

We all have day jobs - I myself have to load trucks and deliver packages at nights, go to college during the days, and work at a retail store on weekends - so please, don't start posting all "high and mighty" that you happen to be working as well; its no excuse for not taking a few seconds to check over your post and links.

Your website said the game has been entirely based from historical research....

Why are you fighting egyptian monsters with baseball bats?

Anyway, it is FPSC. And you have made some good use of the available FPSC media, although the light mapper looks like the old one and not the most recent update.

These our the orginal pics. Some were using v1.09 and others where 15. When its all said in done most likely be complied with 09 for alot of reasons. Basicly 1.15 causes a hosting and joining issue for most people. As were 09 dont. However, someof the custom enitys dont work in 09. So I took what I thought would work out best and decided final complie will be 09.

An a recent devolpment. This will probly be the only commerial game I make using FPSC until its fixed. I found a better game engine the other day. It costs alot more. But everything in general is overall better. So Ill be switiching to it after I complete this project.

An for now this project is on hold until. Issues get fixed. Or x10 isnt so laggy amoung many other things. Even x9 has to many issues right now for me to release and sell a game. It would cost more in trouble shooting etc to release now. Using the FPSC system.
