Hello. I have been spending alot of time on the WIP board of late, both updating my own threads and checking out other peoples. Considering its the hub for games currently being developed in DB it seems to get relatively little traffic, and even though alot of projects get HUNDREDS of views they seem to get relatively little feedback or comments and encouragement from the community at large.

So....this is like a call to arms from the community! Right now there are a whole bunch of really solid and exciting looking WIPs on the board, many of which are getting precious little support and encouragement from the community.... which is odd, because as an ex FPSC user, the FPSC WIP board gets alot of feedback and comments from other users. Sure the games in the DB WIP aren't anything near Modern Warfare, but people are putting time and effort into making cool stuff, and we as a community should support that, so get over there and get involved! I want to draw attention to (and I'm not going to plug my own stuff because that would be arrogant!)

RUN'N'GUN
Landscape and map creator
RushTeam
The Taffer
F1 Racing Management
Opium's Poppy (looking SIIIIICCKKKK)
The Saved
Elex
Blox (page 2)
Battle Bikes
Eddie and Jeff
The Eyeballs are Coming (Again...SIIIICCCKKK)

So go check it out, offer some (nice) feedback, support the community! And make these people feel like their hard work and hours of programming have been worth it!

I want robotic legs.

I think it's a commentary on exactly how many people on this forum actually make games (i.e. a small proportion!). I always check WiPs when I have one on there myself. Partly to see if my game is better than everyone elses , but mostly because I want to support those around me so that they in turn return the support. Since I've not had a WiP up for some time, I've not been checking what other people have been doing.

I agree, there should be much more support for WiPs. I'm gonna go and have a look now. Even those of you who NEVER make games, go and check them out, else what's the point of you being here? Either make games, or support the makers .... or go away.

I check every new post on the WIP board (and I mean every new post), but unless it includes pictures, I usually just scan over them. I also rarely reply to any WIPs these days due to lack of time.
I have noticed the community input on the WIP board over the years follows a trend which is somewhat proportional to the workload people are likely to get from schools and jobs.

I.E. Near the start or ends of academic years, people don't seem as interested and are usually, ajusting for new surroundings in the real world, or settling into a new job, or for the end of the year; passing exams, meeting deadlines. (I too come under the list of people affected by this annual trend.)

But yeh, it would be nice to see more people involved on the WIP board. People should also invest time in commenting on PAs, as they get even less attention than WIPs. (People need to better advertise their PA when they complete the WIP finally (which also happens rarely))

I must admit, I never check the PA board, because I find it hard to believe anyone ever completes anything. I'll have to start looking there more often too.
