Current WIP for this year's Christmas Competition

Mankind is a quickly evolving scourge. Their Technology gets better and better every day.
That said, it's funny how the most advanced technology man possesses,
is used to kill one another...
From a small but deadly handgun, to bombs used to devastate entire cities.
50 years ago, man had discovered a new substance. Found deep within volcanic vents underwater, it was absolutely unlike anything they had ever set eyes on. Upon initial testing, the substance was determined to be extremely volatile. One ounce of the new found substance, had over twenty times the power of one pound of C4 explosives. It was no surprise when man began to test further, looking into possible usage in large-scale bombs...
20 years ago, economic depression had hit, the grand world leaders argued with one another for the scarce resources left. Things were obviously leading to war...
18 years ago, War was declared..what little resources were left, were used in pointless bloodshed...
15 years ago, Man unleashed what many called, Project Hydra.
Small but potent explosives packed into bombs by the ton..
Present Year, man is such a boneheaded race.. Always rushing into things without thinking of the consequences. Project Hydra was a complete success, trillions murdered... Entire countries wiped off the map. The fallout leftover from the strange explosives, vaporized into a gas, and mixed with those in the atmosphere. The sun keeps the gases agitated and spread about. However each night, the gases are a silent killer. Everyday organisms of earth, turn into psychotic bloodthirsty creatures that hunt us at night. Their bodies and minds changed from the now toxic substances hanging in the atmosphere. In what little time they had, those who had made it to the fallout shelters developed a serum to immunize man as a whole against the gases. Man is now constantly on the move, looking for anything to help them survive.
Roving the lands by day, making sure to find shelter by sundown...

Here's some VERY WIP shots for you're viewing pleasure

But I don't like the (is that water?) behind the bars in the first picture. Other than that, this is great!

I agree with you, I would love it if it moved but the "waves" just stay frozen in place. Don't worry, it's just a placeholder until I can figure out why decals won't run in Project Green

To be honest, this is quite honestly pretty far from a demo. If I gave you one now it'd last you 10 seconds if you ran it through

Project Green Is a Free Runoff of Project Blue. It's not as fully equipped as Project Blue but it is sure just as fast. You can find it in the FPSC Chat section

Looking really good! Only thing I don't like in the new screen shot, is the funny looking texture on that trash pile in the left corner. But nah, it's just a small grain of sand on this diamond. Hope to see this on top 3 in the contest

This is coming along fantastic Ekipshi, as your work always does! You have a brilliant sense of creating an apocalyptic atmosphere in your indoor settings, I'm very anxious to try out a demo for sure! The only thing I could critique, would be those light sources in the very last picture you provided us with - might want to throw an illumination effect on those, and maybe put tiny lights, just around the bulb itself so that 85% of it doesn't look black there. Just some thoughts.

Keep it up man, looking forward to seeing more

Cheers

I plan on changing those light sources anyways as I realize those ones don't fit in as well as other light sources I have.

I second that! It's just amazing. I love the feel to that hallway. The blue-ish light and the pipe and the valve and lockers and darkness around it. The segment choice is also perfect. I have very high hopes for this, allthou I'd still like to see The Unexplained...

Shot of the Revised Dining Hall, went for a very dark style on this one leaving the player wanting to flock to the lit areas, thus leading them where to go

Thanks Braden
I actually need to start cutting back, even with project green im starting to hit the low 20's at times with an average of about 28 for the level. Either that or I'll have to purchase Project Blue which I don't quite know if I want to spend 30$ just on that just yet.

I like the contrast between lights you have going, but I would extend the range just a bit. It feels really dark, darker than it should be. I realize that it's underground, but there should still be some more lights. Maybe I'm just being nit-picky. The walls from level 1 to level 2 also don't match up. There is a straight-back-line there where the levels meet.

I will keep that in mind, but I think I like how it looks, once you hit in game as well it's plenty lit enough for you to see.

The new pictures look pretty amazing. If you wouldn't mind...
I dont plan to steal your ideas but if you could email me at
astekgames@hotmail.com some screenshots of how you built you level,
I would appreciate it. Its going to stimulate some more ideas for
my title. I've been having some developer's block and I need
some good pictures to look at. This will help me generate some
more ideas for myself.

Thanks a lot and keep up the superb work.

(Keeping quiet a bit on that one for now )
