Hi all,

*** Update: Deadline is Sunday 12pm GMT. Sorry for the confusion.

Want to design the TGC Christmas card?

Then why not enter this online competition?

Just design a Christmas card with some kind of connection to The Game Creators.

The only restriction is that it must be family friendly 3+

The winner will receive 10 TGC products and a copy of their Xmas card signed by the team.

The deadline is short. All entries must be posted into this thread no later than 12pm GMT Sunday 22nd November.

It should be 6 x 4" (inches) in size. In pixel terms, at 300 dpi that is 1800 x 1200 pixels. We'd accept 150 dpi too though (half the values). You can design it in either portrait or landscape, up to you.

We ran a comp like this three years ago see here.

I'll think you'll find that the picture i have used is di vincis interpretation of the last super, thus it is not insulting christianity, it is insulting di vincis art work.

lets be honest jesus wasnt white.

but anyways, its only a joke, its not like i did anything other the top, all a bit of fun

@Lemonade
Seriously... Don't be so serious! You can be religious and still have a sense of humour about it.

Who was it who just said this?
Quote: "Grow up please! It was a JOKE. If you can't take jokes\sarcasm, then you have no right to be on this forum..."

You are taking offense when none was intended. If no offense was intended, and you know this, then can the image really be offensive?

That was entirely different. In that situation, the guy couldn't even take criticism on his project. On a *programming* forum.

Actually you started the religious debate, by posting your picture in the first place.

Quote: "You can joke about anything you want, just not my religion. Even the AUP agrees with me"

Yes, its true. I agree with you, it is insulting (I'm a christian too) but if you don't like it, you don't have to post about it.

Lets keep this thread on topic

Come on, he took a famous piece of art and did something funny with it. It wasn't (from what I can see) meant to bash your religion.

This is getting intense. I'm going to pull out before I get slapped again

Actually, I think we have all calmed down...

@Zack, Newton, and Diggsey

Sry, I guess I got a bit carried away. I mean, its still insulting to me, but I shouldn't have posted. So let's forget about this and move on!

Merry Christmas, (in 2 months)

Heres a Present, A DarkBasic Christmas Animated Desktop, (See Attached).
Its much better than a card which you just through away, Run the EXE, Then look at your Desktop.

Source is Included, Save it as a .SCR, and it would make a good ScreenSaver

It just loads a black window? havn't looked at the source tho, plus this thread is about xmas cards, not random programs lol.

Tho i do believe our time would be better spent doing a christmas game, not card, but ohwel.

It wasn't the DB Window to look at, but an animated desktop Christmas Message with Falling Snow and a Plane towing a Message, I would of used a Santa's Slay instead, but i made it in about 5 minutes, and couldn't be bothered downloading a Slay Sprite

I am going to have a go at this if I can find some of the TGC logos and art works, is there somewhere I can download the game creators logo, also the other artworks for TGC and their products.

Thanks, its got transparency as well, that will do perfect, TGC should have a repository of their logos for their products, it makes it handy for things like this, or if people want to use them to make banners for links and such like.

One day left, I picked it late to start, so here we go with mine.

The logo isn't as nice as Id like, I had to use one from TGC site, and it wasn't that big, so I had to run a jpg repair and add lots of grain, so would be nice to have a higher rez version to perfect it if this design is chosen.

Here is a second

Here is the third one

Forth, this one was done with the help of a PS tutorial, the second part allows me to turn it into an animated screensaver.

Number 5 and and the final one from me.

Do I get my Crackerjack pen and a Blue Peter badge?

Ive posted smaller versions into the thread as otherwise it would dominate all the thread space. zip file to full size psd for all cards is is here 16mb file

Hi, here is my entry:

I started with drawing a picture by pencil (not copied) and scanned it to my computer, painted and edited it with Jasc PSP9. Only The Game Creators logo and those programgifts were taken there. I wanted something older with Santa Claus (It may be too large picture)

Thanks,
Turtle Productions

Here's an entry by me. It's rather simple, but it works

Also, i figure we should be allowed to nominate an image to be the post card. I nominate these two images:

In commemoration of Ravey's service during the war of electricity eaters.

And also this

...just 'cuz.

Also, just a quick question; can bonanza packs be picked as one of the ten items? I would imagine not, but just clarifying.
