Just thought I would throw it out there that the Bad Company beta starts on November 19th. If you pre-ordered the game from GameStop you are guaranteed a key for it, but if not you can sign up on their site and hope that you get a key.

The cool thing is, finally the Playstation 3 players get something to their advantage, as the beta is only for Playstation 3. This is because last time only Xbox got it, so I suppose it's fair. It's also good because since the Playstation 3 Slim came out the sales for Playstation's have really skyrocketed, meaning more players online.

Anyway, it looks like it's going to be really good. Game reviewers suggest that it could compete with Modern Warfare 2.

It looks cool, but so did the original 360 beta of BC, and to be honest the game was a fairly hefty disappointment. I liked the multiplayer beta, seemed to point towards the game being pretty good, but I think they pushed it too far away from BF2.

BF1943 on the 360 is great, and it's based on the BF:BC2 engine, so I think that things have been pulled back a bit, to the more traditional gameplay, so I'm more inclined to buy it.

What I think is great though, is how so many 360 users get their assess banned from XBL for using chipped-hardware - I think it was actually a sting in conjunction with MW2, duh - they download a pirate version of the most anticipated game, then play it before anyone else, online, registering their console through XBL as being chipped. There's 200,000 more retards on this planet than I originally assumed.
Just thought that might get a little smile from any PS3 owners reading .

The worrying thing IMO is how quickly the original XBox was dumped by MS - if they keep pushing, then MS will just go onto the next-Box and that will be the story of that - another pre-maturely dead console with the PS3 strolling on for years after.

I love 1943, it was the best $15 I ever spent.

And I did hear yesterday on the news that 1 million Xbox Live players were "outraged" over them being banned for modding their consoles, it made me laugh, because PSN doesn't really care, they sold you a $400 console, why would they care they've got their money.

Well, why would they care for modding their consoles since it hasn't been done yet?

Because it has been done, by a team called "InFeCtUs".

I didn't think PS3 had been chipped yet...all I saw by "InFeCtUs" was a NAND back up and restoring chip thingy for backing up the firmware.

Also the reason Microsoft care is that you're breaking their terms of use and nearly 99% certain you're using pirate games

Chipping your 360 just doesn't add up. It's something of a ticking time bomb. I know they've been working on it and they've majorly reduced the probability of failure but modern games consoles are so unreliable... You won't get a free replacement for a modded 360. The money spent on buying another 360 because you didn't get your first one repaired and then getting it chipped is, in the case of the higher end models, more than the vast majority of people would have spent on legit games in that time.

Athlon64 2.7gHz->OC 3.9gHz, 31C, MSi 9500GT->OC 1gHz core/2gHz memory, 48C, 4Gb DDR2 667, 500Gb Seagate + 80Gb Maxtor + 40Gb Maxtor = 620Gb, XP Home
Air cooled, total cost £160

Not to mention that modding your 360 allows you to cheat on Live, which is not cool.

If you have to cheat you are a low-life anyway. I wish that all game servers used something like VAC that bans you from all servers on every game on your account if you cheat. Why do you think that there is less cheating on Steam games that support VAC? Because it's the fear of being banned and loosing money.

Regardless, let's get back on topic about the game, not mod chips.

I don't care much about betas, I prefer to just wait for the main game, if I actually cared much about the game in the first place... Also, Bad Company 1 was pretty bad, it had some good bits, mainly the humour but I felt the gameplay was lacking alittle bit, and the main story. Felt as if the story line was "Player stuck in some warzone lets just refer to him as "rookie" tell him that he has to got off and kill some main baddy." And for that fact I felt no connection to the story, I felt as if the character was just placed there for the game, like the old retro games, like Donkey Kong, what does a little guy with a moustache(now known as Mario) have against a massive ape throwing down some random barrels, but it just happens to be that the ape has his apparent Girlfriend. And I felt the same with Bad Company, the Player was Mario, the main boss was Donkey Kong throwing waves after waves of barrels(soldiers) at you but really your main goal is to steal(save)all of the gold(Girlfriend).

The story was rather average. It could have used some major work. I buy Battlefield games (bought every single Battlefield game so far, woot!), for their online play. Battlefield is traditionally an online game, which is what I saw for Bad Company.

Anyway, I myself love betas because it gives me a chance to see the game and gives me a better chance of telling right from the start whether I'm going to purchase the game or not. I did however pre-order Bad Company 2...so there are a few exceptions.

Anyway, I love how they've added a better squad system for Bad Company 2. No longer will you be able to spawn nearly as fast as in Bad Company. When you die, you wait a LONG time. This is why medics with their defibrillator paddles are needed, so glad they brought those back. They did add a health regeneration system, but it's very slow, so medics are necessary. I myself play the role of sniper often, as that is my forte, always has been on Battlefield games.

Regardless, I just wish more people were interested in it. Oh well, I suppose we will have to wait and see if they can come close to Call of Duty. With the new PC support, I look for it to be a close fight.

crispex: u know BETA's exist so people can give feedback, not like a DEMO or so =P by applying to a BETA you agree that you have to send feedback and report bugs to the dev team ^^ though i cant say i dont play betas only cuz i can see how the game is like, but i usually give feedback/report bugs aswell =P just telling.

I have never been much for BF at all, so i barely knew Bad company 2 existed O.o

Yes, I know the purpose of a beta. I don't only try it as a demo, I also do search for possible exploits that could be used and then report them. I've been part of many betas, I know what to do.

Why does everyone at this forum take every single thing said so literally? It's obvious that is just ONE of the reasons and not the main reasons.

Hah, but what makes you think that he is being serious and so literal? Perhaps it could be you taking everything said so literally? Huh didn't think about that huh.. Huh. Did you ever think it like that? Huh! HUH! Nah only joking. I noticed that to, but I think its because on the internet we don't know if your being stressy, angry, joking or whatever.(Yes in modernday terminology "whatever" is now a emotion)lol

Well, I managed to get a hold of 2 extra beta keys. Any PSN gamer (Xbox does not get the Beta this time) who wants one after I get my key to work, I will gladly give one. GameSpot is offering 65,000 beta keys on the day the beta starts, and IGN offers a couple here and there.

does anyone know somewhere that preorders for the UK and gives a code
i registed on the site like 50 times for the beta but i dont think i got one, (checked all the emails).
i checked at GAME
http://www.game.co.uk/Games/PlayStation-3/Battlefield-Bad-Company-2-Limited-Edition/~r341729/
which was one of the links that was on the site for preordering for the UK, however it doesnt say it is giving a key with the purchase.

does anyone know where i can get this beta key / pre order?

IGN and GameSpot are both offering keys, but they are going VERY fast. The beta is still not working for United States players because they are working on a small patch for environment issues. I hope it will be done soon, I really wish to play.
