I was trying to download an attachment from someone's post this morning when near disaster struck. I'd chosen Save and then started browsing to a suitable location in my Projects folder.

At some point in the browsing process I noticed that two folders were highlighted, Newsletters and Projects I think, and the machine appeared to hang and refused to let me open the Projects folder.

After about a minute or so control returned to me and the Projects folder had magically disappeared! After the initial shock and horror I did a search for the folder and discovered that it had been moved, unscathed apparently, into my Newsletter folder.

Phew!

I then started the download process again and browsed to a suitable location a bit more carefully...

In view of this thread,

Sony to be sued

would I have had a case against MS if things had in fact gone horribly wrong?

You certainly would, some people would say. They did not make Windows fast enough so that it would work on slower machines, so not everyone can use it.

Just FYI, I'm not one of those "some people".

Backing up stuff now could mean an easier time when your computer explodes later... I think...

Ugh... when I read the thread title I thought it was about fumbling the razor. Now that can be BAD...

In the beginning there was nothing. There'll be nothing in the end...
