I just finished Johnny Got His Gun (at 5 in the morning - got to be up in 3 hours and then I'm busy til about 10PM and then I'll probably go out because it's a Friday night

I'm gonna be so tired). It's an amazing book. It's so well written. Basic plot outline - not really a spoiler but if you read it without knowing anything about it I can see it could be even better, so just in case:
it's about a guy who gets hit by a shell in WWI and loses his arms, his legs, his mouth, his ears,
his nose, his eyes - he has no way of making contact with the outside world at all. Because it's
all written in the first person it's intensely claustrophobic; there is basically no input from
the world outside pretty much the entire way through, so you know nothing about his surroundings which
he doesn't figure out himself (which is about as limited as you would expect).
It's an amazing read, and really makes you empathise with the character. Go read it. Now. All of you.
