Considering no religious rites can be spoke of her, for good reason in most, i suppose it is?

@leosmontu - I can't understand what you're trying to say. I am familiar with Ramadan but I'm not sure if you're telling us about the event or advertising a game?

Hmmm, perhaps I should post some Jewish holiday adverts, or perhaps some for my Christian friends? Nah, they'd probably be promptly locked or deleted.
Religious debate is one thing, but advertising it on a programming website is another....request this thread is locked or deleted.

Dudes, I'm not going to lock this yet as he could be merely saying an equivalent of "Merry Christmas" for Ramadan. We're not going to lock all the Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas threads that are merely acknowledging the holiday. I'll give it a few days for a better explanation, because honestly I couldn't understand the original post.

Equitable enough, not that I wouldn't say the same thing about Easter/Christmas or whatever. But I'm not here to start a flame war. So if it is as you say it might be, then happy holiday to whomever celebrates it

If it's a Muslim holiday or a celebration of something related to Islam, nobody ought to have a problem with it. We say Merry Christmas and Happy Easter as Jeku points out. If you have a Jewish holiday you wish to celebrate/discuss, like Passover (I think) then there shouldn't be a problem right? We've had Ramadan threads before and they've been tame...except when somebody idiotically said, "I'm offended by Muslims", who was moderated as a result.

It's not as if this is a discussion on, for or against the religion, so it doesn't really conflict with AUP interests or the interests of the mods. This forum attracts people from diverse backgrounds, so all religious holidays should be allowed a thread (or none).

Though I don't know much about Islam, so I am unsure as to what leosmontu is referring to/advertising - so maybe somebody could educate us.

Indeed, but I've had too many experiences in the programming community when that wasn't the case, and can't stand when it happens. The GarageGames IRC channel was horrible for that, the mods would go off bashing one political party but kicked people that presented factual arguments against the other political party - did the same with religion.

On a side note I have some Muslim friends who hardly call Ramadan a holiday. I believe they have to fast from all food and drink (even water) during the day and not eat certain things for the entire duration. I could be wrong (and probably am), but good luck to those who follow this.

I don't think it's the case here - as far as I understand from my experience here - even if you're a pagan you'd be allowed to say, "Happy Solstice". It might seem pointless if you're the only pagan, as you wouldn't be reaching to anybody. Of course, if a person were to be bigoted and say, "you pagans are dumb with your stupid pagan festivals", then they'd get into trouble. [Note: Paganism was an example, I have no beef with pagans or any religions]

[edit]

I think the Holiday is at the end of the Ramadan. I'm not sure...my knowledge of it is quite limited. I think the Muslim guy I used to practice Karate with said something. Perhaps I should do a google search to be sure...but then it's sleepy time - early lecture.

[Edit2] Might what I'm talking about be the Feast of Sacrifice mentioned in the original post?

As you are religious holidays from us.For example, we celebrate Halloween, we yours. We have religious holidays and neither do we.

This is the answer you can give your ''Happy holidays!''

I think here is discrimination. We respect your Halloween ''Happy Holiday'' vand We said.

Some respect please. It is the general culture, and I introduce my self my culture here is not my fault.

leosmontu,

No one in this thread said ANYTHING against your post. No one can even understand what you are even trying to say. From your last post, I would say that either you also can not understand anyone else here OR you are trolling for discrimination.

I agree; I cannot really understand much of what you say either. Perhaps you could get someone who speaks your language, and could then translate for you...into English that we can understand?

Nobody has no problem with you celebrating your holidays here.

I don't think you read what people wrote properly. Is English your second language?

Sorry if anything seemed to be miscommunicated.

Is there any translation software for your native language? Maybe we could be clearer to each other.

Sorry, if anything was misunderstood.
