Here is my latest WIP. This is just for fun...

My nephew and I are HUGE fans of "Hogs of War" and I thought a little remake was in order. I will be adding lots of 'race' specific weapons and abilities to the Marines / Robots and Aliens (maybe more) that will make up the teams to choose from in this explosion-fest.

Here is an EARLY screenshot:

The basic idea will be that "Wars" are fought with a set number of combatants in a controlled environment / arena.

Ideas welcome and NO this does not mean my other WIP's are being left incomplete...

Looks like a good landscape, the textures could use some work though.

Thanks Zeus, as I said it's very early on. The guy walks, swims, sidesteps and jumps. That's it.

The texture is just something quick to get me started but I didn't think it was all that bad anyway...

How ironic, for my final major project at college I'm doing a Hogs of War total conversion mod for Unreal.

Athlon64 2.7gHz->OC 3.9gHz, 31C, MSi 9500GT->OC 1gHz core/2gHz memory, 48C, 4Gb DDR2 667, 500Gb Seagate + 80Gb Maxtor + 40Gb Maxtor = 620Gb, XP Home
Air cooled, total cost £160

@Hassan, you can play as humans/aliens/robots (so far) and fight against humans/aliens/robots. At least that's the plan so far.

@Beast E Gargoyle, I haven't set up anything much really as I have been concentrating mainly on the internal workings of the game engine. Front end stuff is untouched at the moment.

EDIT: If you are saying you can make this game in 30 minutes then you are a God (if a little bit of a bragger). If you are saying you make textures and would like to make one for me in 30 mins then again you are a God but I will be OK thanks. Otherwise I'm sorry but I don't understand the message.

@NeX the Fairly Fast, I think you are confusing irony with coincidence but hey. EDIT: Sorry, that sounded more harsh than intended. Glad to hear from another Hogs fan. I'm trying to get Rick Mayall to do the voices but I think it might have to be me...

If you have the PC version of Hogs of War, the original voice samples are ordinary WAV files DB can play. You can't redistribute them legally but if you worked on them and then replaced them with your own sounds, anyone with the original game could implement the original voiceovers with a copy/paste.

@NeX the Fairly Fast, cool idea but I only have the playstation version... (was only joking anyway, looking forward to adding some voices)

Anyways, here is an updated screenshot. I have a basic level to use for testing so I can get stuck into adding weapons and HUD now.

EDIT: Just added a little lens flare. I did it to help someone out on the forums last week and I thought it worked quite well so I made it a bit more subtle and added it in just now. Not everyone likes lens flare but I do so there...
