Nobody has made a post of this yet, so I thought I may aswell!

Got the game last Thursday, and I have to say I've loved every minute of it.
Such a vast improvement on the first. All the repetitiveness has completely vanished, and the story line is brilliant! You really want to know what happens in the end!

Definitely has a lot of replay value. There are collectables in the game, but which also add to the story line, so they aren't some random flags or orbs you have to collect for an achievement.

I highly recommend this game!

Is it still an open type world though? I haven't really read anything about the new one.

Yes its very much like the first in terms of world wise. However the architecture has greatly improved, with the environments more visually appealing.

If you liked the first, but thought it was lacking (And repetitive) you will love AC2!

The amount of improvements they have made is staggering. The Game simply flows a lot better now.

There isn't any "Go here and pickpocket this guy, sit here and listen in on this conversation" nonsense. The new mission structure is very well done. There is also a money system in place, so if you do fancy pick pocketing someone, looting corpses or finding treasure, you can purchase new weapons, armour, dyes for your clothes and ammo bags etc.

You can also throw money into the street to cause a distraction to the guards!

Also the game isn't staggered with trips out of the animus, you only leave the animus once during game play, which really keeps you in the story of the Ezio character.

I loved the first game and never had a problem with it being repetitive.

I went all out for this one, bought the very expensive Black Edition so I could have the awesome Ezio figure to go with my collection of game
related figures I even went to the midnight launch.

So far I have been blown away by the game. It's everything I loved about the first one with loads more to do and see.

I have only done the first 4 DNA sequences so far according to the achievements which have popped up, but I have spent hours and hours searching for treasure, climbing up the tallest buildings I can see, doing the side missions etc.

I think Ubisoft listened very carefully to the complaints made about the first game and did everything they could to eliminate them from the sequel. I'd definitely give this game a 10/10.

This one is on my Christmas list alongside COD6, Left4Dead2 and Brutal Legend...so I wonder which I will get.

I enjoyed the first one and like you say, it was too repetitive and this was one of the improvements I was hoping for. So by removing that, I'm sold already.

Yup, awesome. CoD:MW2 is gathering dust. AC2 is my game - at least until I finish it - hopefully just in time for Mass Effect 2.

AC2 does everything AC did, but bigger, better and cooler. Combat is so much more fun when you can disarm a guy, or poison him, or toy with them, or carefully place your knee in their groin. As is, by the way, carefully dropping a guards' body onto the head of a guy in a boat in Venice.

I love the audio design, too.

The Animus bleeding effect that occurs in Desmond is extremely awesome.

I'm currently in the process of going through all the glyphs. They're very interesting and also challenging, and the backstory behind them are very involved.

This game rocks. Blows the first one out of the water. I read a review that says the first AC seems like a tech demo for this release, and I agree.

Me too! I only have about half of them now, but I love the puzzles the game presents to you in order to unlock the code needed.

Quote: "As is, by the way, carefully dropping a guards' body onto the head of a guy in a boat in Venice."

My personal preference is tackling the Pickpockets, getting my money back, wristblade action, then flinging the body a few stories to the ground near some guards as I say, "This city is only big enough for one pickpocket." then contradicting myself by saying, "Nothing is true, everything is permitted."

There's something in this room that makes you can't speak well.
