I've been playing around with Dark Basic Classic since 1999, and my attempts at creating a FPS engine with the language was first tooted way back in issue 23 of thegamecreators newsletter.

I'm now looking at creating small shooter games that will allow me to experiment with gameplay styles and level design. They will feature very stylised visuals, which I hope gives a bit of a retro vibe and allows me to create almost any media I need.

The first of these games is somewhat modelled after Half-Life 2. Gameplay is very similiar, and everything runs smoothly.

I'm soon to start work on final maps for the game, thus the enviroment in the following screenshot is incredibley plain. I will be offering up some videos and a demo as the enviroments take shape, but wanted to post a screenshot for now to at least see how well (or not) my stylised visuals go down!

I love your gun! lol good job. I don't know why that gun is so awesome it just is. Nice to see some stuff coming out of dbc!

hud is awesome, the gun is good, but i cant really see if its a sci fi gun or based on a real one.
