Now that Christmas is less than a month away it's time to start thinking about Christmas presents!

This year I'm asking for:

[Curiously Strong Magnets]
[Mirror Blocks Cube]
[Irregular IQ Cube]
[Viper 55mW Laser Pointer]

So what's everybody else hoping for this year?

i like orange

I quite literally want nothing. There's not a single thing I want that I don't already have. I now have my own laptop, so that's a right there. WAIT!! I don't have a mouse, so maybe I'll ask for that.

Okay, so...

Mouse for my laptop
A nice shirt (I actually like getting clothes for Christmas)

And that's all I can think of. I'm rather a minimalist.

I can't think of anything either. I haven't touched most of the stuff I got last year. I don't actually want anything. Why bother?

Athlon64 2.7gHz->OC 3.9gHz, 31C, MSi 9500GT->OC 1gHz core/2gHz memory, 48C, 4Gb DDR2 667, 500Gb Seagate + 80Gb Maxtor + 40Gb Maxtor = 620Gb, XP Home
Air cooled, total cost £160

- A mouse for my laptop
- ... A 24-pack of Mountain Dew
- Cheesecake
- Crayola Crayons (the big box)
- A back-up copy of MW2 for when the new one gets screwed over
- Moar cheesecake
- Money
- Hopefully Left4Dead and Left4Dead 2.

And that's all I want this year.

Oh, wait!

- New battery for my laser gun.

I wish that we would celebrate Christmas together, the whole family. That would be a first! I pretty much have everything I need as well.. except a job.

Yes but until you reach the point of having a game worth selling there's not really much point in having a commercial license as far as I can see

What if you never create a game you want to sell?

It would probably benefit you to stop starting or hinting at religious conversation GJ. It seems like you were joking around but its still against the AUP. Just saying.

I want a Bamboo touch and pen pad among other things

But there is nothing stopping you creating the game until it reaches a point where you could sell it and then getting the commercial license.

As far as I can see you don't get any additional tools with which to create the game, so why have the license "just in case"? Why not just wait until you are able to produce something commercially viable?

Whoa, don't set your sights too high!

This Christmas I want peace and quiet. I'm separating from my wife and this is really the worst time of the year to do that. On Christmas I'll probably be alone with a giant pot of coffee and a good book

You've gotta start somewhere. And to be honest, working at a gas station is probably not much worse than being a courtesy clerk at Safeway...except for the hours.

A chance to finish my new book, Peace and quite and alot of free time. I now have a kettle in my room so i can have all the green tea i ever need.

Ohh it would be nice if the parts for zabimaru i designed came. That way i could give one hell of a present to a huge bleach fan.

My life would then be complete.

At first I just wanted some CDs from various artists, but then my parents informed me that they are buying my brother a new bicycle, so they told me to ask for something else. Now I'm getting a Bamboo pen tablet as well, hopefully. I've got to learn how to make textures eventually, even though I can't figure out how to export .x animations from Maya to DBPro.

That certainly rambled, dinnit? Oh well.

A weighted keyboard (no piano now I'm at uni and I don't like your average keyboard type things - I want something that feels as close to a piano as possible). Unfortunately even the lowest range ones I'd have to pay hundreds of pounds for myself on top of whatever my parents would pay for it.
Failing that, an electro-acoustic would be useful for one of my bands. I'd quite like a bass as well (I'm borrowing someone else's but it's got a few issues, for example 17th fret on 2nd string plays the wrong note because the frets need filing, so it's useless for playing Wings For Marie pt 2 by Tool and stuff like that).
Wouldn't mind a harp, but they're like £50,000,000,000 for anything which isn't made out of plastic and sellotape.

I want plenty of expensive things, but nothing cheap that people will buy for me. I figured practical things, vegetable steamers, corningware, wireless keyboard and /or xbox 360 keypad. That's about it. Told people to surprise me or get gift cards... I can apply those to expensive things at least!

I'm looking at parts for a new computer, or a dock for my iPod touch.

Clothes would be nice as well.

Jeku: Sorry to hear that. My mum and her boyfriend of 10 years broke up last Christmas, so we're hoping this one won't be too bad. It seems this financial situation is hurting a lot of relationships. My best friend's parents are considering breaking up, and my other friend's parents broke up. Quite depressing.

I don't want anything for Hanukkah (yes I know it's a Christmas thread). I get more enjoyment out of giving to charity than getting things. Getting things makes me feel like a dirtbag and I honestly don't know why.
One thing I would like, but it won't happen, is to be able to spend the holidays and new year with my family back in warm, sunny, California instead of cold Nebraska.

Christmas isn't as exciting this year But i'm sure once I get to decorate the tree etc it'll get better

I dunno what I want from Santa this year. I bought my laptop in august this year, so I don't need a new one. My MP3 player is quite old and has a cracked screen (I sat on it with a pen in my back pocket... oops ) but it works fine so I don't need a new one. And my mobile phone contract runs out in March so i'll get a new one then. Those are the only 3 things I use. So... I've asked for Left 4 Dead 2 - which I already have, as I got it the day it came out on Steam And I want a few more geeky t-shirts, maybe to do with the big bang theory... But I honestly dunno what to get this year. I'd quite like it to snow, but I don't think that wish could be granted unfortunately.

And! OOPS I wrote quite a bit there...

What's the make and model of that beauty?

I have a Korg X50 as my midi controller, it has fantastic sounds and is very easily programmable, but it uses synth-style keys. Alright for synths and drums, but awful for legit piano or rhodes.

As for my list, I'd like to weasel my way into getting either an Xbox 360 to take with me back to college in the spring, or a TV (I'll buy one or the other), or if all else fails, money to go toward some new samples from soundsonline. And an upgrade to Pro Tools 8 LE would be nice so I could actually install Snow Leopard instead of just looking at the box now and again.

All the stuff I wanna get costs too much money . . .
So, what I really want is to get accepted at this derned internship I've been pursuing.
