I was running version 8.x(on XP) recently and a friend said I should update to 9 as it improved performance on his mac. With 240GB in the library, iTunes ran quite sluggishly as I'm sure it does for most of you. So I did the update, which then took 10-15min to update the library itself, but it made quite an improvement. It's way more responsive and scrolling feels as smooth as scrolling from any other program now. It also has a new feature which shows all duplicate songs. Out of my 240GB, 20GB of music was duplicates, due to "best of" and live albums most likely.

So just thought I'd share this with everyone, I know not everyone here likes iTunes and some of you downright hate it, but I feel its performance and responsiveness are finally where it should've been.

Cool. While I don't use iTunes, my sister does. Whatever old version she has installed seemed like an absolute pig..
