Hey guys,

Right, well ive finally come back after what must be a good 3 or 4 years away from the DB scene. For those who don't know me I used to be called DarknessMaster back in the days of the very first versions of DBC and then progressed to Mike or VapourMike as DBC progressed, I was a moderator on the RGT forums and when they went down I was major member of LLRGT (bring back memories anyone?). My main role is still with VapourNET (whom back in the days had close connections with DBC members and special hosting offers).

Anyway, Im finding myself with more and more time now so thought id pop back to the forums, see if theres any old faces and say hi to the new people, hopefully you will start hearing a bit more from me now.

Regards
Michael Allam

Wow, a blast from the past if ever there was one!

Good to see you back, there's still a few oldbies kicking around that will remember you.

Well Richard Davey is still around, although not as involved as he was, he still pops in now and then.

Raven is probably lurking somewhere, if he's not too upset by the comments in the bi-annual 'Where Raven?' thread.

Kevin Picone is still around, his own incarnation of Basic (PlayBasic) is going from strength to strength.

TDK Man comes and goes, but he's around right now - probably camping in the DBC section.

Wolf (Ron Erickson) is a moderator now, goes by Ron since his moderation, so as not to scare the noobs.

A few people, like David T are in university, so they might show up again in the future - would be nice to have a reunion with all those past-oldbies.

Some well known users imploded though, like TMC and Indi - they might still be developing stuff but I've no idea.

Note that if your an oldbie who remembers Mike, and I haven't mentioned you - it's probably just because I'm an idiot. Even if you mostly just lurk, post and let us know your still alive.

Nope. I mean yep. I mean erm, I don't remember much till about 2005... You are a first dayer (26/8/2) so I probably owe you a beer and my brain protected me by partially forgetting all about you... Either that or my original theory that every one else is a forum bot written by Rich for my amusement. Including himself. He never actually properly denied it after all...

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

TMC has been frequenting the BinaryZoo forums. Some other old RGT users are there too.

I almost didn't! You've changed your avatar! I think likes names that should be locked from change! And then we'll get user's jumping up and down saying there no free speech, name changing or avatar swapping on this forum.

As you can see, I am fairly new member to TGC. But I'll probably hang around much, much longer.

No Ian T. He vacated his mod position due to time constraints IIRC.
IanM is still a mod and... older

I know, I wish I was alive 3 years earlier, so that I could have signed onto tgc earlier. The old days always seem to be fabled into these great tales of creativity and ground breaking stuff. A TGC age of discovery.

Nah it was a golden age of DB development! And not at all like now but with more flame wars and anxious waiting on demos of cell shaded boxes on giant flat brown matrices. Or Equillibrium (remember that?)...

You are obviously a bit peeved that you slept in and forgot to sign into the new forum on the first day

Cheers

I wish they finished Equilibrium.

In the early days I was too excited in getting into doing game dev, I can remember it being awesome. I didn't catch many of the flames wars...the one I started I still don't think of as a flamewar, but it was flamebaited...hmm...it's a shame nobody hands out flamebaits anymore.

I still have a thread in Team Requests that I still can't see what replies I got as the board was deleted over night.

There are members of course that I miss, but I guess some people learned to get lives, whilst the rest of us stay here.
