IF THIS IS IN THE WRONG PART OF THE FORUM, PLEASE CHANGE IT TO THE RIGHT PART!!!

Any way, I thought of a good idea for a engine to make, I'm making it but if people like it, then I'll carry it on if not, then I'll stop making in.

Basically it's a MMOFPS Engine. It's drag and drop and it comes with 3 Sample Games (Fantasy Sample, Present Day Sample and Future Sample). It comes with some models already if people don't know how to model (I've only done the terrain editor so yeah, not much work yet and the terrain editor doesn't work properly aswell, too glitchy):

16 Fantasy Chracters which are:
1-Ash Elf (Male)
2-Ash Elf (Female)
3-Wood Elf (Male)
4-Wood Elf (Female)
5-High Elf (Male)
6-High Elf (Female)
7-Dwarf (Male)
8-Dwarf (Female)
9-Gnome (Male)
10-Gnome (Female)
11-Orc (Male)
12-Orc (Female)
13-Goblin (Male)
14-Goblin (Female)
15-Griffon
16-Dragon

5 Fantasy Weapons Which Are:
1-Sword
2-Staff
3-Sheild
4-Dagger
5-Crossbow

10 Fantasy Buildings which Are:
1-Fantasy Libary
2-Castle
3-Fantasy Village House 1
4-Fantasy Village House 2
5-Fantasy Village House 3
6-Fantasy Pub 1
7-Fantasy Pub 2
8-Fantasy Mine
9-Building Ruin 1
10-Building Ruin 2

13 Diffrent Fantasy Items Which Are:
1-Flying Book (Red)
2-Flying Book (Green)
3-Flying Book (Blue)
4-Fantasy Table 1
5-Fantasy Table 2
6-Fantasy Grass 1
7-Fantasy Grass 2
8-Fantasy Gate
9-Fantasy Plant
10-Fantasy Grave Stone
11-Fantasy Sign 1
12-Fantasy Sign 2
13-Fantasy Shop Table

6 Modern Day Chracters Which Are:
1-Modern Day Human (Male)
2-Modern Day Human (Female)
3-Zombie (Male)
4-Zombie (Female)
5-Nurse
6-Soldier

6 Diffrent Modern Day Weapons Which Are:
1-Pistol
2-Sniper Rifle
3-Shot Gun
4-Magnum
5-Knife
6-Roket Launcher

5 Diffrent Modern Day Buildings Which Are:
1-Army Training Grounds
2-Modern Day Home 1
3-Modern Day Home 2
4-Hospital
5-Bank

5 Diffrent Modern Day Items Which Are:
1-Pistol Ammo
2-Sniper Ammo
3-Shot gun Ammo
4-Magnum Ammo
5-Roket Launcher Ammo

4 Diffrent Future Chracters Which Are:
1-Future Human (Male)
2-Future Human (Female)
3-Alien (Male)
4-Alien (Female)

2 Diffrent Future Weapons Which Are:
1-Lazer Gun
2-Glue Bomb

3 Future Buildings Which Are:
1-Space Station
2-Alien Base
3-Human Base

3 Diffrent Future Items Which Are:
1-Hover Car
2-Lazer Gun Ammo
3-Hover Board

You will be aloud up to 100-150 Zones
It is 3D
Weapons do not have animations. They move about the screen sort of. (Sorta like when you move a pen, the pen doesn't move) Blood and Buillets are Emitters.

So what do you think? If you like the idea then I'll carry it on.

Go for it. Post a demo when you have it. It would be really cool to do it in silent mode until you have the demo ready and playable. Then you would totally surprise everyone, out of nowhere, BAM.

Thanks. I'm also planning for it to be free. But if you sell it to a game punlisher then you will have to pay £15

@Zeroff - Good luck. It'd be a very useful engine indeed, if you could finish it.

Trust me, I will. You should see it in the WIP section soon. I just need to work on a model, make the terrain working and thats realy it.

Err, your features for this engine consists of just: "Basically it's a MMOFPS Engine. It's drag and drop"? The rest of your post details media, which is irrelevant to the engine(in this context).

It isn't ready for WIP. It's less like a Work in Progress and more like a Dream in Progress. There's way more to it than sticking a model on a terrain. I'm sure you will anyway, just my advice. Good luck with it.

Zeroff if you can spend at least 2-3 hours a day working on this then I'm sure it will be ready for a WIP post in about 6 months. I'm not trying to be negative but an MMO engine takes a lot of time, effort and hard work to complete. It's not totally impossible just challenging.

But if you post a WIP tomorrow then it will be locked, no questions asked.

Good luck with this though. hope your dreams come true!

I would really like to use it, don't know yet if I would buy. maybe add more quality to weapons, non animated guns would suck. also, how many people would be able to play at once? do you know how the server would work? those are some things to think about for a quality engine.

remember, your engine has to be able to support the players, and you need a way for the server to send data. it could be as simple as location, firing or not, weapon holding, variation of character playing, name. how are the players going to be recognized as to what they are doing is all it amounts to.

No offense but this seems like another one of these ideas that someone just thinks of a whole bunch of cool stuff then adds a big number next to it. So remember start small then work your way up not the other way around. I hope you prove me wrong though.

i have to agree with heyufool1, start of small, taking small steps and putting up small "objectives" for urself, like for example, all the models are acually the least priority when making a engine =P
