Flibbertigibbet!

That means Merry Christmas in the language which I have just invented and that was then lost to the ravages of time.

I will live forever or die trying.

Am I right in think that's pronounced 'whore'?

"Merry Christmas, and a great whorish night?" I am guessing here. Well...I say guessing, sabotaging the Swedish language, but I hear that it is okay to do.

@Seppuku:
gott nytt år = happy new year
grått nytt hår = grey new hair (Lukas is sooo funny )
Your pronounciation of "hår" is pretty much correct.

Great New Whore? I'd prefer that. Seems to tie in with the Evony thread.

Still, "Grey New Hair", I think I'll keep that phrase handy. We have a Christmas special of our show on Friday and it tends to have a general Viking theme...and we could find any Christmas Battle Metal songs, so Merry Christmas and Grey New Hair will suffice for 'Christmas'. Frigg (Odin's wife) is our special guest this week...maybe I could have her growl a Christmas song...I don't know.

Perhaps you meant

?

Seems more in keeping with the impending season.

Come to think of it, perhaps you were right first time with all these long dark nights around at the moment.

Afrikaans !! the British should know it there are plenty of afrikaans South Africans speaking people in the UK I think it's near the 1 million mark...

Afrikaans is similar to dutch. But it is a mixture of Dutch English and a sprinkle of a few others.

Afrikaans is just over a 100 Years old.

But we have weird names for the internet.

Internet = kuber ruimte.

Quote: "Vrolijk Kerstfeest en een Gelukkig Nieuwjaar! or Zalig Kerstfeast"

To afrikaans (note very similar, direct translation possible)

Vrolike kersfees en n' gelukkige nuwe jaar of salige kersfees

I hate Christmas. Most of my family members (at least the ones who actually cared about me) are long since dead, all I've got is my father and my son. Other than that, Christmas is just a gathering of a bunch of bitter old people who would rather just be left alone.

But this year is different. One of my ex-wives got remarried last month. NO MORE ALIMONY! MERRY CHRISTMAS ME! But other than that, bah humbug.

I'm working on Swordfight again! Come tell me what you think!
