Shouldn't this, really, be impossible?

It's a great achievement but I'm thinking - how on Earth is this possible in any form or fashion? It can't possibly be the full engine. The full engine, here, swallows 660Mb of RAM and 25% of my CPU in an empty greyblock room. This would never work on the iPhone. Looking closely, a lot of the detail and the effects have been toned down and/or flat out removed which is to be expected. But still... how!?

Dicuss.

Athlon64 2.7gHz->OC 3.9gHz, 31C, MSi 9500GT->OC 1gHz core/2gHz memory, 48C, 4Gb DDR2 667, 500Gb Seagate + 80Gb Maxtor + 40Gb Maxtor = 620Gb, XP Home
Air cooled, total cost £160

The iPhone is incredibly more powerful than people think.
Here is an article that I found a while ago, but explains how it is done.

That's OnLive - it's just displaying images sent over the net. This is being done on the iPhone itself not on a server somewhere. It takes minimal processing power to run OnLive. The real strain is on the network.

Ogre runs nicely on iPhone, so it hardly surprises me UE3 runs

An engine can scale content up and down without having to be a cut down of the engine itself. Presumably it just enables and disables stuff based on hardware

Yea, the iPhone is a really nice device.
I have an iPod Touch (which went "kaput" yesterday... Godd***it), and it's the best mobile device I ever had.

EDIT: Unity indeed runs perfectly on the iPhone.
