Remember those old guys? They made epic renders, I think one of them was called DaVinci, and all they used was MS Paint. Sometimes it's just skill....

Seems like quite a few people on here like metal. I never really got into or liked "hard" music like that, I've always preferred easy-listening or softer music (pop rock, alternative, soft rock). I'm more of a song-by-song person rather than a band person, I could love one song by a band and hate another, so I almost never buy full albums, but 10 artists of some of my favorite songs in no order with links to a song I like by them:

-Snow Patrol
-Relient K
-OneRepublic
-LinkinPark
-Brandon Heath
-Colbie Caillat
-Breaking Benjamin
-Ben Folds
-Taylor Swift
-Green Day

Some honorable mentions: John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Paramore, Coldplay, Lifehouse, Hawk Nelson, Switchfoot and Plain White T's.

And is it just me or are all of music videos on YouTube disappearing except for the one's on "VEVO"?

Gil, it seems you and I have similar tastes in music. I think we're the only ones.

Hehe, yeah, I like quite a few of the bands on your list. 30 Seconds to Mars is one I haven't listened to much, but I like what I've heard . Listening to some of those other songs now. I like that one by Owl City, haven't heard it, the vocals are very similar to some of Relient K. Forever the Sickest Kids kind of remind me of Hawk Nelson, which is one of the bands I like. Never heard The Providence either, but that song you linked to of theirs is pretty good, maybe I'll check them out .

It's strange, most people I know in real life have similar musical tastes as me, but almost no one online does .

This Providence is a relatively small, obscure band, but by far, my favorite. Forever the Sickest Kids does remind me of Hawk Nelson, now that you mention it. Owl City's album "Ocean Eyes", which has that song and their wildly popular "Fireflies" is one of the few albums which I can listen to start to finish without skipping a song. 30 Seconds to Mars just released a new album recently, and I haven't listened to it much, but I really like it.

It's actually kind of cool to finally find someone with similar musical interests. I'm not really into metal or hard rock for that matter, so it's hard to find someone to talk about music on these forums.

I'm surprised I've never listened to them before, I just listened to Fireflies and Vanilla Twilight and am listening to Hot Air Balloon, I really like them all so far, definitely the kind of vocals and tunes I like, thanks for sharing .

Yeah, I was just visiting some cousins last week who love them, so the only song I heard all week was This Is War, haha.

Yeah, it is, I guess there's something about most computer/video game nerds that makes them tend to like "harder" music for some reason .

@Gil: I just can't seem to get into John Mayer - for every song that I like (and there are a few I love) there seem to be several I just don't care about at all... I just wouldn't sit down and listen to an album through...

3) Linkin Park (Numb)
4) Rage Against The Machine (Killing in the name and Wake Up)

7) Wierd Al Yankovic (White and nerdy)

I know what you mean, it's the same way with me, I like about 8 of his songs, but the rest are just meh to me, which is why I just put him as an "honorable mention" rather than in the top 10 .

I wish my music knowledge was as good as yours, to know one of the most famous songs by such a huge group as that...

Quote: "5) Muse (Feeling Good)"

That'n's a good song. Not sure if the Muse version's the best, but they do it well...

The Eminem songs you listed are a little inferior though... Let's be honest he started going downhill after MMLP (although stuff he's done with guys like Obie Trice is still good).
I'm not sure how much you listen to apart from new-ish stuff, but I'd advise checking out
Biterphobia (Soul Intent)
Demon Inside (possibly the sickest verse he's ever done)
Maxine from Infinite (bit of a dodgy album - a few great songs, a lot of not-so-good ones, and he's less ballsy on it)
Murder Murder - want this EP but I don't know where to get it - know it's pretty pricey on vinyl but I just want CD anyway

If you haven't already got them, get Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP as well. There's a decent song called Dear Source as well which I've got but I don't know where from :s

Slim Shady LP's probably the best album he's ever done though.

Sorry if you already knew all of these and I've just wasted your time...
