I was curious about this as well. I've managed to write my own IDE, but what tutorial are we talking about? The only thing I could find was a post by RobK explaining how to interact with the compiler. This helped me more than anything else.

I think it's his zip file of handy files that he has. It contains a word document on the filemap access, and a few other goodies.
