For those that remind of old Amiga in the 80's ... You know what Amiga 100 Mean for this period ... A brand new computer with a revolutionnary concept of custom chipsets ...
After this one, many followed ( A2000, A500, A1200, A3000, A4000 (not in order))

But after these ... Dark period felt on Amiga world ... Many companies dig into the deep of errors and mistaked and Amiga world became what it is today ...

But, Amiga ONE tried to make amiga revive and with Amiga OS 4 ... It was a good try ... But far under what a standart PC computer can do ...

After this, ACUBE released their Sam440EP and Sam440EP Flex motherboard from 633Mhz up to 800Mhz (for those lucky like me that did register one before the 800Mhz CPU stop availability) ... Amiga OS 4.1 was released for both Amiga ONE and Sam440EPs ones ... A good try to make Amiga world continue survive ... but many though it was just a stone throw into the water ....

You were all wrong ... The revolution is under preparation ...

Here is what 2010 will bring us ... under the mystery of X, we can have enigma to resolve here : http://www.a-eon.com/ ... it tell use many things about what is under X ... and it's great ...
Of course these days, all computers and video consoles uses Custom chips ... but under X, there is more than custom chips ...
For those that remain stuck in the page http://www.a-eon.com/3.html, feel free to enter the URL http://www.a-eon.com/4.html ... But please, play the game before clicking on the links I reveal you here .... it's more exciting to reach all pages in the good order than simply read the end of all things ...

And finally, for those that want to know what is under all this, if you remain stuck on the page : http://www.a-eon.com/5.html, simply enter the URL http://www.a-eon.com/6.html and the thruth will be revealed to you ...

I hope that many of us, that know what the Amiga world was in the past get as excited as me concerning this great news. Hyperion Entertainment said, before releasing this news that "they will reveal their secret project. Their most ambitious project!"

I already hear some of you saying "It will probably cost thousands of $ ... but read carefully ... This should be less expensive than what Amiga 100 price was when it was released on July 1985 at a price of $1295 ( cf : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiga_1000 )

Do you remember when computing was fun ?

Regards,
Freddix

Feel free to tell me what you thinkg about this ..

I wonder what are they up to,making a new OS is like throwing rock at a Microsoft spaceship and Linux tank. The motherboard is nice,2x PCI X16 slots is very welcome. But what the hell are they going to do with a dual core CPU that has only 1.6ghz at a core, even an overclocked P4 could outrun it.Ill have to wait and see what they are up to.

You're right concerning CPUs but don't forget that AmigaOS is a light OS that is fast without the need of having a Xcores CPU and 50Gb RAM .... Amiga OS 4 run better than windows VISTA / 7 on the same computer specs ... Try to run windows 7 on a 633Mhz computer with a radeon 9200 and compare with the actual Sam440EP boards ... You'll see that AmigaOS4 is more responding than Windows VISTA/7

More to this you have a programmable custom chip XMOS that can handle 8 thread in real-time and can get access to memory, CPU, PCI, etc ...
In fact, it is the way to another "way of coding" ... instead of simply using multi-core ... you'll have a programmable device that can be used for various things ...

Remember, Amiga ran things on a 7MHz machine that nobody else could manage.

You say they're making a new OS? I don't see why since they only just recently finished the last version of AmigaOS about a year or two ago. Which we've never seen. Every few years you hear about Amiga coming back to life. Ten years later, I'm still waiting. It's the other bloody phantom console!

I was always an AtariST man myself - but it would be pretty cool if it took off. I mean, standardized custom hardware, DMA?, proper interupts... would be pretty nice to work on I think.

Thanks to UAE4All I have an almost fully functional A500 running on my Nokia e90. I even have AMOS Pro, DPaint and Pro Tracker as .adf's so I can even code on it

Indeed those were the days
