Hey, here's the deal, I currently get my connection to Xbox Live through my laptop, via ICS (internet connection sharing):

Modem > Router > Laptop > (Crossover Cable) > Xbox 360

I want to be able to have my friend come round and have a connection to live when he brings his Xbox also, so i was thinking something like this might work:

Modem > Router > Laptop > (Crossover Cable) > Ethernet Splitter > (Ethernet Cable) > Xbox 360

The ethernet splitter I have in mind is this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Double-Adaptor-Ethernet-Cat5e-Splitter/dp/B000XRODTE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1263173775&sr=8-2

Will this work?

You can only use the splitters in pairs like this.

By way of demonstration, he emitted a batlike squeak that was indeed bothersome.

Why do you need to do it through your laptop?

I'm having trouble following this since I'm really tired at the moment, but would this help to fix your problem?

Linky.

£60 is not an acceptable price to pay for a wireless adapter, plus if i want two xbox's with a live connection, that is £120.

I'm not sure, from what i read in the FAQ, apparently not. It seems like using that adaptor, you could only use one xbox at a time...
