Just wondering which bands are you like and perform well.

So, what is the best gig you have ever been to?
I personally havent been to many. Ive been to (in chronological oreder ) Nickelback at Wembley arena (warm up Staind), Bullet for my Vallentine (with warm up In Case Of Fire and Fightstart) at the Royal Albert Hall...

However my favourite was an acoustic 30 min gig in a small shop by the Skints, a punk ska band, before they went to play an 18+ gig. Although it was much smaller my others, it felt much more personal and the music was great.

So, what were your favourite gigs?

Thanks,,,

I think the first one was the best. Deep Purple playing in my city. Also liked the David Gilmour concert later relased as "Live in Gda?sk" album. Seeing Budgie live was awesome, too. Oh, and I've been also on Kraftwerk. It was very climatic (it took place in an old warehouse)...

I saw Slipknot live (08 December) they only played 14 songs and considering the crowd was massive and the tickets were £40, I was dissapointed.

(Worst gig ↑ )

My best gig was seeing Enter Shikari (09 October) they played a lot more songs and the tickets were much cheaper . But they did an awesome performance and the pit was great fun! The supporting band, The Devil Wears Prada were awesome, I'm not really a fan of their studio works, but they amazed me live.

Also Ladyhawke was quite good when I saw her, considering I'm not into pop at all.

My parents saw them too, but in Cambridge. From the sounds of it, it was an awesome gig.

I have many to choose from, so I have a top 10:
Saxon: Wacken 2007
Therion: Wacken 2007
Heaven & Hell: Wacken 2009
Opeth: Bloodstock 2008
Nightwish: Bloodstock 2008
Stratovarius: Wacken 2007
Iced Earth: Wacken 2007
Blind Guardian: Wacken 2007
The Australian Pink Floyd Show: DeMonfort Hall, Leicester, The Wall Tour.

However, for a full list of bands I've seen and where:

I saw Zero 7 a month ago and they were awesome!

I even captured some of my own footage from my old N97 phone here:

By far the best gig I ever saw was the very first Coachella in '99. There were over 100 bands who played including Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Moby, Beck, Morrissey, Cibo Matto, and more... was great

The best gig I've ever been to was the "Toxic Twin Towers Ball" at Wembley Stadium in 1999 (yes that long ago). It was headlined by Aerosmith who at the time I didn't listen too.

Anyway it was awesome, Lenny Kravitz played, The Black Crowes played, The Stereophonics played.

I have been to many different concerts since (many for ridiculously cheap prices as my now fiancee worked for a company who sold corporate packages and any tickets left over you could 'donate' money and get) but none of them have been as good.

I'd really like to see Pearl Jam but when they visited Australia recently they didn't play anywhere near me, and once you factor in the cost of accommodation and flights it cost too much to go for poor me :-(

They were ok, it's just I was expecting more, and then they gave a really short performance (14 songs) so I was left dissapointed. Saying that I will go and see them again when I can.

Actually, for funny stuff, I found JBO to be very funny - a comedic metal band from Germany, sadly most of their stuff is in German and my Germany needs improving, but the stuff I do get, is pretty hilarious:

Poor quality, but their version of 'Raining Blood'

Also, I'll supply videos for my top 10 of the performances.

Saxon
Therion
Heaven and Hell
Opeth
Nightwish - Anette Pulled of Tarja's songs well I think, even though her voice isn't suited.
Stratovarius
Iced Earth (I love Tim Ripper Owen)
Blind Guardian
The Australian Pink Floyd Show (Same Tour, not the same gig)

Lucky!

Blue Oyster Cult was surprisingly good live. Nothing fancy, just a couple of guys playing, and playing well.

From a quality standpoint, Tool was the best. The laser light show was cool and the sound was just great.

Kiss also put on quite a show, and the drummer's podium floated up to the front of the stage as he did his little drum solo.

And even if you're not a fan of the music, Gwar gives you an experience you'll never forget.

Southern Culture on the Skids, best band I've seen play in a bar.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd, what can I say about a guy who played guitar with his teeth?

Most disappointing converts I've seen, Rob Zombie at Ozzfest, 1999 I think. Vocals were just awful. And Vast, seen them twice and felt disappointed both times.

Sorry, I'll rephrase that:

most of their stuff is in German and Germany needs improving.

Sorry for the unnecessary 'my', I get too possessive sometimes.

As as they say, don't mention the war.

Also, what I notice at 2009's Wacken Open Air was that a lot of people wore 'gegen Nazis' (anti-Nazi) t-shirts, and others in 'gegen hippies' (my sister has a sticker of it on her car) and it brings one to wonder if the two are somehow connected. Does supporting hippies lead to national socialism? Well, you best watch out for Cat Stephens.

Perhaps I should have asked, had Germany improved, as well as my German I may have done.
