I recently purchased Texture Maker and it's a nice piece of software.

I've been stacking logs for firewood today and for some strange reason had an urge to create some bark textures when I came indoors. Here's an example:

Hi GG, the texture is looking good, all it needs is some post production to play with the saturation and you'll have something game ready.. I'm tempted to play with it, but I'll let you.

Cheers!

Who am I kidding, I just had to play with your texture..

Make no mistake, this IS your texture,.. with a bit of post production..

Cheers v2.0

I was making a bark texture last week as well. I like both.

Nice work - a definite improvement. Which software did you use?

I keep telling myself that I'll make a permanent record of the steps I used when I manage to get a half decent texture - but I usually struggle to remember exactly which settings I used when something works.

Food for thought though because the existing tutorials are often out of date because they seem to refer to earlier versions. They are still a useful source of ideas though.

GG, I used ArtGem (no longer available) for the post processing, but any paint program that lets you paint with an effect like colorize or saturation will work

Cheers!

Thanks. I guess a bit of experimentation will do the trick - as usual.
