No, I have it as well.
Since Google owns YouTube, ads have been added, and some other BS that we don't need, and speed has severely degraded since then.

Maybe it's because of Google changing the server filesystem.

Kinda annoying, with the ads and such.

Yeah, I've been having the same problems as well. Videos are taking FOREVER to load, and they used to load so fast that I was ever so happy. But now, like within the last two days, it's gotten to the point where I don't want to waste my time to load a video.

Hopefully, they'll fix it.

Ditto, I've been having some problems as well. I used to be able to play a video smoothly. Now I must stop it at the beginning and let some of it load beforehand. It's getting very annoying and tedious, a fix is definitely needed.

It's running normally for me. Although I have noticed more Google ads...*cough*...Nexus One...*cough*

On a *slightly* related note, shouldn't I be able to play an HD youtube video without it stuttering? I have 2 GB Ram, a 6800GS, and a pentium D 2.8 GHZ. Sure its not an "extreme" system, but it should be able to render high-quality video without a problem...right?

The ad which has a moving clown and you need to throw pies in his face is extremely annoying, and it makes your mouse flicker as well.

Recently (for the last few months), youtube always buffers for a bit, then starts playing, and stops. No videos stream properly without pausing. The only ones that work are ones full of still images (music tracks for example).

I wish they'd either sort out the bandwidth issues, or change the player so it actually buffers and correctly calculates when you start playing.

Plus their system sucks, videos with more views load faster than ones with less views.

I've been watching Peep Show, as they have some really good C4 comedies on there like Peep, IT Crowd, plus older ones like Absolutely and Adam and Joe (if silly star wars figure homages are your bag, check them out).
Anyhoo, it would depend on the time of day, but the streaming was terrible, unless I watched at like 3am - nothing is buffered with the shows section, so it's not like I can pause and let it catch up. Made the shows unwatchable, and there's lots I want to watch there.

My solution is to move to a better internet connection - but I'm sure something is up with YouTubes servers besides my bad connection.

Flash is a sluggish piece of crap. It should have been abandoned years back for something more suited to video and with decent hardware accleration but unfortunately Adobe seem to be able to get into every market and dominate it with the worst product.

Some videos take ages to load, whereas others don't. I assume it's because they are stored on different servers, and some of them get too much traffic.

Ever since google took it over I've felt a slowdown. I also dislike the amount of ads that have cropped up.

Youtube just started renting movies. This could be a major killer to businesses like Netflix. They only offer 5 movies via google checkout (on youtube) right now, and they are all from the Sundance film festival.

The only movies I've spotted on youtube have been of this ilk:

Watch it, I've started to.

Also...why do Martians refer to them as Martians? "But you are the leader of the Martians", don't film makers realise how absurd it is?

"Hello, I am leader of the Earthlings!"

Youtube has... changed!
Finally it looks much better!
I must be on there way too much because it changed while I was on there.
