I notice a lot of times, people post a YouTube video, or some other sort of video pertaining to the subject of discussion. This is fine by all means, but my question is, who actually takes the time to watch those videos? 1/100 times I will watch the video, but generally I hate whenever topics become discussion about the posted video.

Sometimes. If it is a WIP video then I will watch if I'm impressed by the sceenshots/idea. If the thread is about a video (whatever it may be if it sounds good) I'll watch. If it is a digression in an existing thread in geek culture I may not if I am not particularly interested. I'm not bothered whether people talk about it, obviously if it is worth discussing, people will do so, it may even encourage me to have a look.

Depends. If i like the look of a game from screenshots on a thread i will watch.
But i will only watch a video from a thread if it has an interesting description or name...

I tend to always watch youtube videos of projects if they are posted, only really watch off-topic videos if they interest me.

For me, a youtube video doesn't inconvenience me too much, so I'll watch most of them. It's really irritating though when people post a video download link at someplace like fileshack or even attached to the post.

I usually watch project videos too, don't get me wrong, but as for "funny" videos, forget that.
