Well, I haven't had any troubles for awhile with calculus until now. I am fairly good with Integrals, but I'm not so good at them when they are within a square root.

I was just wondering if anybody could help with the problem

3|-3 (9-x^2)^1/2

sorry, the integral symbol is interesting to do on a computer without an image. I just put a | instead. its just from 3 to -3.

Anyway I just need a walkthrough on how to do that. just not sure how to get there.

i keep getting 6, but that's not what's in the back of my calculus book.

Try substitute x = 3sin(u) and dx = 3cos(u) and take it from there.

If you haven't done integration by substitution, then I suggest you look that up. (Hint: You also need to look up some trigonometric identities)

9/2 pi?

Thats what I got when I followed it through (3rd time lol), though it is a bit of a bummer question, and the only logical way is the one BiggAdd suggested =)
