Hi all, as you know, I haven't been on the forums for quite a while save a few comments on productions. I've decided to start a free media request post (channel) just for your games.

Though the requests are unlimited, we do specify in a special modernday/scifi genre. Sort of like the models we did for our past (canceled) production, Shatterpoint 2.

Some examples of our handiwork

Hope to see some requests soon!

P.S If the media is for a secret project, emails are always welcome.

Oooohhh.... Nice HUD... Could I get a neat sci-fi hud like that? I'd really like it...

It would be for my brother, who's making a sci-fi game. Please? I would be forever endebted. (not really. But I'd really appreciate it)

Maybe you wont give me it but, i would appreciate that door in the thread of your game... The one that looks like a retexture of the sci fi door. It has some transparent bits...

I can't give you all the exact media you see in these pictures because it has all been lost save a few models. I can remake similar versions though. We do do small packs, but unfortunately, we don't do characters or animated things. I would be happy to recreate the sci-fi hud from S2.

I also forgot to mention that we do great segment textures:

wws, that could be done, but it would take alot of time and I have so many requests. Could you remind me once I've completed the small ones?

I'll start with the door texture for bootlicker.

Here's the door retexture with the normalmap, and the specular map. This retex looks especially good with bumpcubereflectalpha selected as the effect. Bumpent will require a less strong normalmap because It looks so beat up and unrealistic.

Now, I will work on the hud for shadowtroid.

Hooray. Free HUD.

I have always likied big, edge-screen HUDs. Reminds me of Metroid Prime...

I think that all free items should be given away to everyone, not just a select few. "But" if you absolutely have to have something and its a simple project I am sure we can assist in some way.

Because I am sure this thread will become full of requests fast and though it has no limit and should stay up for a while I ask that you make one request at a time. I have free time since I was hit by a drunk driver but the pain and doctor visits do slow me down a bit so please be patient.

Please feel free to visit our site and sign up if you would like to help us out.

I have the finished hud here. It is similar to the one you see in the screenshots, but not totally identical. Now, I shall work on the grungy textures for coffee grunt. I'm glad you all have made frequent visits and comments on this post because I hate to be left in the dark.

Since we are already doing a tank I might be able to do the BTR after I am finished but its going to take a while before I get to it.

Tons of doctors appointments for the next two days but I should get the tank to 2Rogues by tomorrow so he can get it textured.

Hey, I remember either you or one of your 'teammates' asked me if I'd like to join your dev team. I've reconsidered my previous decline and would actually like to partner with you (as I have my own dev team - yes, it's true) if you'd like that.

Cheers

We would never decline a partnership unless of course you are in fact, a, uh, n00b. You can send me some of your work for evaluation and then we'll determine which type of media designer you should be. I don't want to be sending emails to everyone on your team for individual projects, so, I would suggest you have your own branch. Any other details should be discussed via email.

Thanks for the desire to support us!

Sounds great! I'll tell you that my original FPSC work was total crap, to be honest - before I upgraded my software and started trying new techniques and spending more time learning. Yet now I've improved. I could do 3D modeling and texturing - maybe animation. I decided to just discuss it here a lil' then will e-mail you tomorrow. What type of work do you look for? I do modernday modeling quite well yet can do Sci Fi textures quite well too.

I didn't expect you to; was just talking about me as an individual helping you guys, not joining, just working alongside you.

-PwP

EDIT: Forgot to mention that most of my old work is on my website. The only thing new is the Sci Fi Platform (not the green one I released for free a long time back - this one I was very happy with) and the 4 Pipe Pack. I'll send you an e-mail in just a 'sec...

Allright, email me then. As for the media, I think light sources should be an easy project, so, I think bloody james will have his pack rather soon but as the walls are the easiest, he will have those first. We are still working on the tank and plane. Though the other tank and vehicle have not been started, please know that we've not forgotten.

Thanks PWP. I was the one asking you to join and I have seen your work so I am sure 2Rogues will agree with what I seen. We all do our own thing but its nice to have a team you can fall back to when something needs to be made or you just cant figure certain things out.

I should have the Tank done tonight but the plane is not even started. I have my last major appointment today with the District Attorneys office for the lady who hit me then I will get back to the grind.

PWP... if you can help out with the plane it would be awesome. I can make lights in no time but the bigger projects like the tank seam to get me wrapped up in detail and it kills me on time and poly count so I always end up doing it many times over. I like small projects these days.

Future requests... please make them a bit smaller then vehicles ;]

Hey, 2rogues, e-mailed you twice by accident. First one is a description, second is screenshots, sorry 'bout that.

Right now I'm busy (2rogues, if you read my first e-mail you'll see why), so I may not be able to help you out much. I hope you understand.

Those screenshots remind me of E.L.E.

Also, remember to invert your models on the Z axis before saving them or you'll get the inverted text (like the recycle bin on first screenshot)

I have never inverted and have not had a problem at all so far. The reason for the recycle bin having the word mirrored is in the unwrap. The other side of the bin is the right way but he just placed it so that it says it backwards in the screen shot that you see. I made both sides of the bin have the same UV space so thats why it seems messed up.

Honestly I had no idea people inverted models before export. Seems like the program or exporter is messed up if you need to invert first. What program do you use?

AC3D is great but I have to purchase now since the trial ran out. Will be using it more thats for sure. Mostly I use MS3D and TrueSpace. 3DSmax is sooo expensive and after using the trial I was not $3500 worth of impressed. Blender can do all that stuff and for free. Plus I am a simple modeler so I doubt I will be getting that anytime soon. Maya might be my next big investment since I will be going back to school for game art soon I hope and thats the program they use.

I am going to focus on the light pack for a while so please keep letting us know what you want and we can see what time allows. Eventually they will get done but the light pack will be the fastest and most fun I think. Also some reference pics would be nice if you want specific lights.

GJ: Can you give me some reference pics on what your looking for. Thanks.

To the fpsc rocks, I already put a download for a full helmet hud on the first page. Animated health bars are something totally different. I don't really know how to.

Y'know what, 2 rogues and the entire team of you guys? I feel like a jerk to you. Remember you asked me to texture the tank because you guys were busy or something and I didn't do it? Well, I have to make that up because I've also totally strayed away from helping you in any form and I apologise. This time around it'll be better, I promise So just remember, I'll try to help with things you need and will stick to that well.

I would like to give you all a bunch of files both FPSC ready and unfinished models. I have included some of our game models in raw form so that they can be made to fit your needs.

With the fall of my motherboard I have not had the chance to complete much at all but I now have a new pc that I can run much better stuff with and hopefully make a lot better models and textures.

Feel free to do whatever you want with these files and post here the changes you have made. I am giving these away so that it may benefit other projects since ours is pretty much over with. I rarely work with FPSC anymore butt will try and find the time to make my new models into FPSC ready media for all the great members here.

When or if the migration includes more multiplayer options I will come back and try again but my main focus is a larger online multiplayer game that will include lots of new ideas and family fun. Most games are focused on blood and glory but my idea is to bring family fun into the online shoot'em up chaos that is todays multiplayer experience. Unfortunately FPSC will not and can not do what I need it to so for now I have to use another engine.

Hope to see your results of these files sometime soon so please upload what you have done to them for others to use. Thanks.
