Hi!, Guys, I will appreciate if someone can recommend me an AFFORDABLE Text to Speech software or voices and it be able to include in my commercial games. I know AT&T voices, but they are very expensive or NeoSpeech as well, any other?

Thanks, Javier

Fl studio has a text to speech feature and you can export sound files using the demo version.

eSpeak on sourceforge is cross platform and can also save to WAVs (you didn't specify what you're developing in, however. eSpeak is C but I guess it could be wrapped to DBP etc. easily)

FYI - Did you know there's a LINK button on every post in the forum so you can do a direct link to the post you're talking about. Like thus:

Read the fine print carefully on most of those voices. Most expressly forbid making an audio file with their voices to use in any commercial project. You can pay for it, but expect it to be expensive. The companies mostly say they allow their voices to be used "free" to support the handicapped and for no other use without permission. Let me know if you find a good sounding voice without these restrictions as I have been looking myself.

GPL . Unless you prerender the WAV's beforehand but I think FL studio would be better for that.

Look into the Microsoft Speech to Text API (SAPI).

AnalogX SayIt. Proper old skool BBC sounds. Sounds like a robot!

So include captions whenever you use the synthesizer, and allow the synthesizer to be disabled. Bam, instant support for the reading impaired.
