Overnight, all my hotmail accounts were hacked and I do not know how. My passwords were different and I have given them to noone. The languages in the accounts were changed into some foreign one I needed a translator for:

Password reset question: En iyi çocukluk arkadaşınız.
Password reset question (english): Best childhood friend.
The question was reset.

What do i need to do to get my accounts back. This passwords would be very hard to have cracked.

thanks

Umm, contact Microsoft/Hotmail support? I've had my Hotmail for 14 years and it hasn't been cracked yet. Your password must have been easy to guess or you gave it to a friend.

Maybe you irritated too many people with your chain letters?

Simple. Contact support.

Last week, my friend had his GMail and WoW Accounts hacked.

He contacted support, he's got his email back and well, I don't know about his WoW.

It tends to be a fairly simple process from what I understand. People get hacked and companies tend to recognise this. If they don't, make sure they do.

As advice for in general, if you have a problem, generally there will be technical support or a support forum of some kind. It might save you a few threads in the future.

My advice would be to make sure you run an anti-virus / anti-malware scan soon. Having 3 accounts with different passwords hacked at roughly the same time sounds suspiciously like the result of a keylogger to me.

Really? Another complaining thread? Is that all you do? I would think it obvious that the best solution is to contact hotmail, not post on a game creator forum complaining about something else again.

-I stopped this a while ago, so back off.

Quote: "My advice would be to make sure you run an anti-virus / anti-malware scan soon. Having 3 accounts with different passwords hacked at roughly the same time sounds suspiciously like the result of a keylogger to me."

-I have used the 'Remember Me' feature, and haven't needed to re-type my password for many months.

I remember the other month i got 'Signed in at 2 places' when steam started. Probably how my mw2 got banned.

I use Avast Antivirus and it has worked fine and it blocks hackers. I also did a Trend Micro Housecall scan about a week ago to get no results of viruses.

EDIT:

If you want to post about this, then gtfo of this thread. This is serious and it is no joke. If this happened to you im sure you would feel the same as I feel right now. Whoever hacked my account now has access to all my personal information.

I sent an email to their support with a 300word extra info box with info on my other hotmail accounts. Hopefully they will all get reset.

thanks

If it's extremely important, i.e you have highly sensitive data in your email inbox, consider giving Microsoft a call. If this ever happened to me (and like Jeku, i've had my account for 10+ years with no problems) i'd be on the phone to MS instantly, and I wouldn't hang up until I got my account back.

GameDude, I think the point is all you contribute to this forum is complaints about something or other and I don't think the community likes it as this isn't the place to consistently complain about things.

You come straight here without at first trying to solve an issue. I don't mind giving advice to people, but you'll annoy fewer people and do yourself a better favour if you attempt to solve your problems before seeking advice. I mean, people may just stop giving it if you're not going to bother trying.

@ HorhayGlizzle
That's a completely pointless comment. It serves no purpose and is the kind of thing I'm sure most users would like to see less of.

Even the best internet securities can't pick up 100% of the viruses out there, or keyloggers for that matter.

It's how my friends things how his got hacked, but then also to be fair, it's not the only way to acquire access to be person's email.

@HorhayGlizzle, hahahahahhaha people still troll? How lame is that?

Yeah, but did you reformat etc. after your last malware attack? Just that, normally, if you get a nasty infection when running without appropriate protection, adding AV etc. later does not help (because it has had a chance to screw around with the system and avoid protection, or just screw the system so any AV won't work)

I remember a scenario like this on my Dad's PC, where he added Norton to rid of the infection. It didn't help what-so-ever. The Norton scans failed silently and the main process of it kept crashing - presumably that was the malware intentionally targeting attempts to remove it.

Obviously Norton is exponentially crummier than other AVs, but it wouldn't surprise me if they attack other known AV/anti malware apps.

HorhayGlizzle is QuothTheRaven back to troll. Because its obvious that QuothTheRaven needs a little more time to grow up, I've extended his ban by a year and will continue to do so with every account he creates.

Aaaaa justice.

Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen troll
Swung by Lucifer whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor.
`Wretch,' I cried, `thy God hath lent thee - by these devils he has sent thee
Respite - respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Raven!
Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe, and forget this lost troller!
Quoth the Moderator, 'Nevermore.'

I think there's a better explanation, which whilst insulting, is probably very likely the case here: All the security software in the world can't protect against a determined user that insists on doing stupid things.

And I can vouch for this problem too: The only malware that ever damaged my PC / led to a reformat was run while I had full AV + the whole shebang. It was purely because I downloaded something retarded without being cautious / intelligent.

So your problem most likely is malware. Keyloggers (or some kind of 'watching' trojan) as already mentioned, would explain why you appear to have been systematically attacked (all hotmail accounts + very likely your steam account as you mentioned). [Or you've been phished at some stage]

Reformat, even if you do fix the problem by contacting MS (or in fact, reformat immediately. It wouldn't surprise me that if it is a malware attack, your forum passwords etc. will be next on the list.)

You guys are being rediculous now, this is a serious matter and you are just making jokes and insulting me. If he has access to my email accounts, he has access to all my passwords that use that email account. Why would I go around making stuff up? Waste my time to annoy others? Get lost lol, there would be no point in doing that.

Lets stay on topic. ONLY POST if you are wanting to contribute to the topic.

If you do a google search for [email protected], you will see that he is Turkish, a hacker and a pirate.

You're being totally unreasonable now, this is a matter we can not help you with. Frankly, we're all tired of hearing about your problems. No one else can help you with this matter. Contact Microsoft. I'd also take down that picture or blackout your birth date.

If you ever actually acted on our suggestions rather than shooting them down without trying, you'd probably get more helpful feedback.

That, in addition to the fact that no matter what has happened, you did it to yourself either by being phished, or allowing crud onto your machine.

End.

We aren't saying that you are lying or are making fun of the situation. We are making fun of the fact that every time you have a problem, you feel the need to post here about it.

I can't get a code to work for Bad Company 2 weapon unlock, a few days ago my wireless suddenly stopped working, an IDE I am using for Java keeps freezing, I accidentally rolled over one of my game discs in my chair the other day and cracked it, my computer kept stuttering when loading a web page a few weeks ago (solved that finally, stupid Microsoft Security Essentials). My point is we all have technical problems, but we don't all come complaining and posting about them here.

GameDude, you've been given the biggest extent of advice you can receive on this matter. The only people that can deal with it are Hotmail, because they're the ones looking after the account.

You don't need to hunt him, unless you want to take legal action, but no doubt that'd be a difficult and expensive process, especially considering he's in Turkey.

The mockery derives from frustration, and other bits from simple banter. Take annoyances on board, ignore mockery and banter. Simple.

I seriously don't know what category this lock would come under, so I'll just say:

This thread has been locked because the only direction it's heading is downwards, and I don't feel like banning anyone right now
