I dont watch much TV and if I look at the covers of British newspappers for the headlines all I see are girls with giant boobs exposed and news on celebrities. Are there lots of earth quakes going on right now? I caught the one in Haiti. Is this all over Chile or just one city or area?

A few years back we even had an earthquake that was felt in Derbyshire in the UK, I felt it of course being blessed with super powers of irony and cynicism my super sensitivity picked up the microscopic disturbance in an instant, but the other mortals had to hear about it on the muse programs on the tellthevision Set next day.

Umm, speeding up the earths spin, that reminds me I could do with either a mechanic version of our solar system that I can wind back and forth, or a computer program so I can check all positions of heavenly bodies in our solar system at whatever dates I choose, I shall have to look out for something like that when I'm more free from my plans of world domination.

An Earthquake in Derbyshire is nothing in comparison. It was just a bit of a shake, though it produced 3 great stories.

However, I am glad you're safe Neo, but at the same time it is tragic, so I offer my condolences to you and all of those effected by it.

Another one?

That kinda scares me, cause I live near a fault line, and they say the "Big One" could come along anytime now...

I know, they didnt even say what city it was in. I haven't heard from my relatives over there for quite a while now and I'm starting to get worried...

At least some one else had better luck and wasn't in that building. Cheers Neo, glad you're still posting

There's a fault line under Lake Erie to my knowledge here in the US. It's given us some small shakes here and there. Hope it's not the next one to go off...!

Everytime I go to California and we take certain routes, my brother points out and says "It's San Andreas Fault!!!"
"Jeez, what's he blaming her for now?!?" is what goes through my mind...

In all seriousness, I hope that doesn't go off 'til the city is truly prepared for it. That'd be a real nightmare even then... I also hope the people in Chile recover well and soon. Life there must be hard now...

As for the Mariannas Trench, I've been told not to worry about it because the thing is supposedly "well lubricated" so major earthquakes don't happen often. I'm not convinced though...

In the beginning there was nothing. There'll be nothing in the end...
