So, since i am sitting here and "working" with MS3D. I wondered what kind of music do you listen to when you work? Or do listen to music at all?

Personally i listen to the oblivion soundtrack`s, it reminds me of better times I cant listen to any hard-rock music at all it makes me go crazy... I need something, relaxing something that makes me feel "complete".

Well it depends on what themed media I am working on...

Grunge or angry themed models = Manson.....and mason themed songs

ect...

In the afternoon I listen mostly to rock or screamo (Rise Against, Underoath). But after 7pm I listen to electronica mostly (The Crystal Method, Massive Attack).

I just listen to what I like. Mostly Metal (Metallica, Samael, Ministry, Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Dream Theater etc.), Rock (Nine Inch Nails, Deep Purple, Budgie, Misfits etc.) and even Electronic (The Prodigy, Kraftwerk and Venetian Snares)...

Unlike most people that have posted so far, I prefer to listen to softer music that is more "chill", for lack of a better word. It helps me relax and makes me happy . Music like:

How can people listen to music when they are working? I need SILENCE when I'm concentrating on stuff, especially modelling or animating.

I mostly listen to jazz or broadway standards when working on projects.

Bond1, I'm the complete opposite, I can't concentrate when there's no music around, I get frustrated when it's too silent.

It depends what I am working on as to what is the most influential music to listen to.

One oy my favourite soundtracks for doing work is Dark Side Of The Moon by pink floyd, which has a lot of up and down moments.

It really depends. Owl City, Radiohead, Mercy Me, the list goes on. I like a lot of different genre's, so what ever feels like my tempo for the day I usually go with.

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I would rather have silence but when I do listen to music, it is:

Not all are alike bond, you should know as you represent a character which is well known not to be like others.

Quote: "It depends on my mood"

Oh, indeed it does for me too. But do not forget, music is mood stimulant, it can make you "un-concentrated".

I usually listen to podcasts when doing stuff on my computer, and when I'm at work. If I have to write a document I can't listen to anything with lyrics.

If things are going well and I'm hammering out code at a decent rate, something fairly 'mechanical' with a steady pace (Plaid, Aphex Twin, Mu-Ziq, Hybrid)

If I'm debugging though, complete silence.

This might confuse some...I am currently listening to Enya.

But the truth is, my working music varies greatly because I have a wide taste in music, even if I am primarily a metal-head. I think my music confuses my flatmates, one day they're hear extreme death music and the next day opera.

Just to name a few

Muddy Waters (Blues)
Otis Taylor (Folk, Blues, Jazz)
Moby (Electronica & Alternative Rock)
Combichrist (Electro-Industrial)
Porcupine Tree (Progressive Rock)
Evergrey (Progressive Power Metal)
Fintroll (Folk Metal)
Korpiklaani (Folk Metal)
Emperor (Norwegian Black Metal)
Dimmu Borgir (Norwegian Black Metal)
Opeth (Melodic Progressive Death Metal)
Blind Guardian (Heavy Metal)
Threshold (Progressive Metal)
Iced Earth (Heavy Metal)
Stratovarius (Power Metal)
OSI (Progressive Metal)
Anathema (Various. My favourite is their semi-acoustic album Hindsight)
Pink Punk (Spoken Word)
Sigur Ros (Post-rock)
Therion (Various. Started out black metal and ended classical and the rest of their music marks that transition)

What?? Are you talking about evanescence? Amy Lee has always been the singer... She's about the only person in the band who hasn't left...

Blue, Mods can see edits...it was a rick roll, which I really don't see why people are still doing that. At this point it's no longer amusing in any way, just annoying, especially in a legitimate music thread.

As for my music when I'm working...depends on what mood I'm in, what I'm doing, etc. I listen to almost any music so a list would be rather pointless, it would change by the hour.

I know they can see edits, I have been to forums before. I don't understand how I can get in trouble for editing it out after literally 2 minutes. I think 1-2 people got rick rolled. That is it. Thanks for the warning though.

Yup, Wouldn't do that around here. I remember when I got banned for having a link to it in my signature. Even though it clearly said it was a rick roll.

I never said you'd get in trouble. Just that at this point the meme should be dead already, especially on this forum. It irks me more that it's in a thread where people are legitimately discussing music. Never like rick rolls, even though they've only got me 2-3 times.
