I need to buy a new phone for less than £50, Im thinking of getting an iPhone Clone as an actual iPhone would be way out of my price range, does anyone know if there any good, if so, which is best for about £50, it needs to be able to run java apps so i can install Opera Mini, and have a usable mp3 player.

Thanks for any help.

Umm...why on earth would you get a phone just because it's an iPhone clone? Usually you get a phone based first on its software and secondly on its hardware. If your getting it just to be "cool", then...I don't know what to say except, "Ewwwwww, Apple fanboy."

Seriously, is it that important to you to have your friends think you're "hip"? Is that why you are getting a phone?

Don't do it.

Seriously, clones are not worth bothering with, the iPhone and touch are expensive for a reason. If you can't afford, then save up, be patient - or get something else. A clone will just remind you that it's far from an iPhone, and you'll resent it, you'll be embarrassed by it, and you'll waste your money on it.

There are lots of chea phones out there with good features - It's better to have proper features than features added for the sake of it, ugly features usually, clunky, ugly, unresponsive features that make your nice new gadget so useful that it might as well be made from chocolate.

Just have a normal phone in the meantime, at least until you can afford something cool and gadgety if it's your thing. My Motorola Razr has sufficed for a fair amount of time, it makes and receives calls, I can text message, use the calender, set my alarm and pretend I'm on Star Trek by flipping it open and saying, "beam me up Scotty!" Other features are convenience and you may as well save up for that rather than get something second rate.

Alternatively, buy an iPad, walk into the library, have a recording of the Nokia tone, play it and shout "Hello! What? No! I've got my new iPhone! What? No! I'm in the library. Okay! Ciao!" in pure Dom Joly style. I've been tempted to do that, but alas my fundings are too small for such an impulse buy.

He's actually done it...damn, should have expected that:

Thanks for the advice, main reason i was thinking of an iClone was because i like the full screen touch screen, and not because of what it looks like, i have this on my old phone which i've gone and broke, (Prada LG KE850), but i'll look about then, see what other phones i like.

I hated the Prada phone, i also had a Tocco which is one of the worst phones i've ever owned. Even if you don't want an iphone, you aren't going to get a decent one for under 50 quid.
I agree with Van (Again, that keeps happening lately) Save up and get an Iphone, no copy compares and all copies of the app store are crap.
I'm either upgrading to an Iphone or a Nokia n900 when my contract ends. My mate has the n900 and its a damn decent phone, but i'm leaning towards the Iphone because i still love the apps on my Itouch. Also wouldn't mind getting into developing for it.
Take a look at the new google phone aswell.
