It's true!

http://wiki.thegamecreators.com/Main_Page

Apparently this was created a couple of years ago as a better command reference for all of TGC's languages. I think this is a great idea, having been frustrated by the often-vague help files that come with DB. It would also be an excellent way to compile command information on third-party plugins that tend not to have it, or if they do, it isn't in a standardized format.

In fact, I've started filling in a lot of the pages this week. I have a program to convert the DBP help files to Wiki format.

Who else wants to bring this back?

I think I remember someone mention maintaining and updating this a few years back. Didn't last long.
I'm not aware of the current state of the documentation for DBPro, but i always remember people complaining. When it's a damn sight better than some other languages out there.
I'm not going to put myself out there and say I'll try and maintain it(as i rarely use any TGC products of late, bar DBP for some rapid prototyping or little tools to help me along my process), but it can't hurt to get some people together and get some decent documentation up. It might be worth browsing the forums for those undocumented keywords that people have found.
Hell, if I get the chance i'll gather some links for free plugins from around the forum and email them to you. Can't promise anything as i'm swamped with freelance, uni and actual work at the moment but if i get some downtime, i'll let you know in this thread if it gets done and sent.

Looks pretty bland (it needs pictures!), but otherwise I think it's an absolutely fantastic idea. I wonder why they stopped working on it...?

But it can always be better .

Am I getting nominated to head this up, then? . That would be a help, though isn't there already a list in Program Announcements?

Why do you think I made this thread?

There was another website created that documented most of the commands in DBP with better examples and descriptions. I forget the site, and IIRC it was taken down several months ago, but it did exist, and it was a lot better than that wiki.

I like the new look this weekend .

Does anyone know of an easy way to get DB to read the string tables from the DLLs? If so, that would speed up the process of putting in all the commands. Either way, I think I'm going to run the program for all the commands and see if people can help paste them in the proper pages.
