" The spy sun glasses with 4gb flash drive and 2 mgp camera "

An these are something i could have alot of fun with. I could record my practice bouts with friends. Normal cameras have to be strapped on with something and would get in the way and probably end up like the last one.

Hmm. Don't be fooled, they can usually claim any "size" they want, to some people it might seem like 50 inches, to others it might seem like 10. Those perticular glasses look kind of odd however, I would take a look at vuzix.

Do these things actually work? How can it "simulate" a 80 inch screen?

Your basically combining two images, like a 3d movie or whatever, so it's all about the placement on your eyes. The effect won't be entirely convincing however.

I haven't seen one with more than 640x480 pixels, which is not great considering how close to your eyes it is (And that's for the "high resolution" models)

640x480 isn't too bad though. When you merge two images, it gets rid of *a lot* of the blockyness. You would definitely see it though at that low of resolution. Once you hit 1024x768 there's almost no jaggies. 800x600 is pretty good too. This is my experience with shutter glasses. I've never gotten to use a headset.
