Yeah, it is a bit special this month .

That's one to print out, and get framed - Wish the newsletter had a more garish, STFormat look to it though - or even worse, the magenta and cyan colour schemes in Speccy mags in the 80's.

Netbooks ARE the new black.

Yeah, I've actually waited on something like Netbooks for a while, like a fresh market with standard hardware and requirements. I quite like developing for Netbooks, there's more chances that what your working on will run better than you hoped, and it's great when that happens.

This issue looks really useful. Lee's new shader feature plus IanM's DLL notes are going to be studied very carefully.

By the way, it is possible to compile the DLLs with the free personal edition of Visual C++. It requires a few changes (and additions) so that might be a problem if you want to share your revision. However, you will be able to modify the source code to your own needs. If I find the time I'll post a guide.

I'm trying to work out if that's sarcasm, keeping Mnemonix's joke running, or complete awe

Most likely, it is my awesome joke.

Wait...I didn't make a joke.

I don't know about other countries, but over here today is a holiday.
Might be the cause.

(However, issues have been late before as well )

This is my 38th issue, and it's never been late. It's all there but TGC have to have a break too Here in the UK it's May Day Bank holiday, where it's customary to sit in traffic jams in the pouring rain, eager to eat soggy sandwiches on a cold damp beach.

It's been raining all day over here. Seems the Earth wants a day off, I think everyone should stay home and play some board games with the family.

Let's say it again ... It's a weekend, and it's a national holiday in the UK.

Lazy blighters, the lot of them!

I work in an office and don't get bank holidays off, those guys work from home, and get bank holidays off! - it's wrong on so many levels

My last job let me have bank holidays, it was great, half a dozen times a year you get a long weekend, what's not to like about that. The only enforced holiday I get is xmas, xmas day and a measly 34 days leave per year. And I hate Mondays, so it's like I'm missing out on some glorious FU to Monday. I think that less and less people in Scotland are getting bank holidays off these days.

I'm sure the newsletter will be out tomorrow.

Not only that but, judging by the weather here, May is early this year so BatVink has been caught by surprise.
