I have decided to quit making games and programming altogether in order to concentrate on my new career.

I joined the RAF recently and I have been deemed qualified and suitable for the position of parachute tester. I will therefore be no longer frequenting these forums.

I will miss you, but I am also leaving to pursue bigger dreams. I am leaving to build nuclear weapons in my basement.

Not too long ago I found on ebay somebody selling a Nuclear Bunker, I though it would be a fantastic investment for my evil plans. It was going for £17,000...alas I am a poor student and couldn't afford it. T'was in the peak district too, so not too far from one of my homes.

I'll take it anyway. Just show me a picture of it before I buy it.

apparently i'm too "stupid" to test parachutes.

I thought being stupid was a desired quality in that job.

I shall be staying here forever

Unfortunately not, as I already have that. Unless your version has guides to building missiles. If it does, I'll take it.

You can fine anything on the net

I can tell you now that some of the designs are incorrect, but it gives you a general idea, if you want to sell some, im sure IanM will have some for his moon base

Yes - they're called "The Parachute Regiment" - and, yes, their jobs tend to be short-lived.

What do they do? The only equivalent we have over here are parachute riggers, who, as the name suggests, rig the parachutes for ejection seats/jumpers.

Wrong, the parachute regiment are based within the British Army im guessing the job he would be doing would be something to do with testing the rigging/parachutes for those going out of planes, and for the chutes on jet seats and supplies that would be airdropped.

the job I was going to do would be jumping out of planes with asda bags attached to me in an effort to find a cheap and viable alternative to the expensive traditional parachute.

Parachutes are way too expensive to supply every person jumping out of a plane with one. In my own personal experience you just need to give two men parachutes, drop them out of the plane with an air mattress and a foot pump, and the rest of the troops jump out and aim for it. It's 4.5% more effective than asda bags in my personal tests.

Your tests must be flawed.

Our asda bags carried a 100% mortality rate, which is 100% more than 0%.

This is the most effective you can be I think.

I found you get best results with a waitrose canvas bag in the middle of the asda bags (to add stability), stored in a backpack like so.

Believe it or not I actually submitted an idea like this into an eco-competition back at school.

Waitrose bags are expensive however.
