I have a new internet slang. "LPH". It means "Laughing Pretty Hard" I think it has much more class than LOL.

I dunno, maybe. But, if you're a typer like me who tends to not capitalize the internet short-hand words ("lol", "brb" and "atm" to name a few), "lph" just looks...well, it doesn't look as good as "lol". It also doesn't roll off of the tongue as easily.

Could get picked up though.

Yeah, I think new internet slang words are usually started by a random guy posting the idea on a game creating forum.

I just use "hahaha" or "haha" or "hehe" or "heh" depending on how funny it is.

I feel that anyone who uses anything besides those... should stop. Whenever I'm talking to someone online and they use "lol" or something, I feel like I'm in middle school again and want to just run away.

My friend uses ctrn ( can't talk right now ) ... I still can't believe he won't use brb , its much simpler and you don''t have to explain it to everyone as for lph ... i prefer lol because if you will notice the L and O are so close together it is convinient where as lph makes me waste some time moving my finger to the h.

Anyways g2g CSE

LOL has a certain quirkiness to it, even phonetical lol is a pleasant little word, unobtrusive if you know what I mean.

LPH just sounds too far, I feel the urge to punch anyone using that term already. People who laugh pretty hard all the time are morons, at least if you give a little chuckle, you can say LOL with a straight face. LPH just spells out bandwagon-moron.

If this is the game they want to play, then I call...

LSHTALPOPPO
''Laughing so hard that a little piece of poop popped out.

LLAFJHAOWINTF
''Laughing like a frisbee just hit an old woman in the face.''

Recently I've gone for German versions:

lacht aus laut = lal (lol)
lachten mein ar*** aus - lmaa (lmao)

but methinks we have plenty of these. 'lol' is pretty much set in stone as a typical internet response to anything funny and 'rofl' and 'lmao' are for things particularly funny.

What about:

LUL

It could work, but then again LUL means 'peewee' in Dutch, so that would offend a lot of people, right?

*has no idea what to say... didn't need to put this here but just putting three periods generates the message to "turn your caps lock off"...

It took me a long time to realise people weren't saying "lots of love" when they wrote "lol". I was beginning to think the forum was full of weird misfits. Seems I was wrong.
