Hi.

I'm new to DB, working my way though the tutorials, DBPro is in the mail.
I can see that I'm going to have some difficulties. My primery aim is tho create walk-thoughs of archeological sites with some interactivity. My main difficulty will be in placing objects with precision. I downloaded the demo of Chartographer, but this seems to have no provision for imported objects. Also tried LevelMaker 3d, but that crashes on my system (WinXP). Does anyone know of a utility that will allow me to place objects on a terrain or matrix? I guess that as a last resort I could import a huge 3DS file, but I don't know what effect this will have on frame rate. Anyway, I'd appreciate some help.
Hello, and thanks,
Fernando.

what about programs like anim8or @ anim8or.com, you can build the levels in here and change the huge .3ds files to x files through the DBCONV.exe program freely available to users of DB this coverts .3ds to .X files for your using pleasure. only problem is that I can see is there is or seems to be no support for collsion to object limbs seperatly from the objects the are part of (this would be handy, nudge nudge) if it is available I am either blind or they hid it well..

hope this helps

Thanks. I'll try that. The collision thing is not a big problem. I assume that if I name various objects separately the names will show up. I could then delete them and re-import them into DB with the same size and position, and tweat their properties.
Thanks.

PS I can't find DBCONV.exe on the website. Do you know where it is?

I thought this was included with the first DB disk.
