Guys, I released a little partgame of Exposure, not necessarily a demo. Go check out the Showcase Board!

Well, it's been ages since I've posted a WiP or updated any, for that matter. I just brought together some old ideas into possibly my best project yet. I'll make this post short, because I got tired of adding features, stories, etc.

Story: You play as an average civilian who used to work for a company that owned a major nuclear power plant. The plant was built out of total surprise and in the shadow of uselessness. The outskirts of the city it was erected had no need for extra power. The government didn't even question any part of the operation.
After working there, you started hearing rumours - whispers between suspicious co-workers. It was said that the plant had been built to wipe out major cities within a certain range of wind currents carried through the city. The way they'd achieve this - cause an intentional core meltdown. The uranium would essentially be suffocated from additional hydrogen supply thus leading to a chain of events to cause a massive radioactive steam explosion in the core. The wind would do the rest.
No one knew how to tell the world what was going to happen. Wester and middle Europe would be contaminated even more horribly than Chernobyl itself. You were the one who took action.

Features:
-Time Flow. Slow down time at the toggle of a button.
-Motion blur.
-Bloom.
-Compass
-PBUM awesomeness.
-Lots of custom weapons

Screenshots:

Now, the screen above is still being worked on as I don't like how it's full, yet empty.

The above screen, I dislike how the window is lighted. Will have to work on that...

So, on the above screen, not sure I like the light. Might have to replace it.

So yeah, time for the usual wrap up stuff, bla bla. C&C is adored, demo will be out once I finish lvl2, which I'm almost half way through with.

Now, I've had recent requests of joining our team, [this is NOT a team request] just ask

I dislike the entity doors against the walls. Why not put fake static segment doors there. Other than that, it looks cool

errm dont want to be rush, but some time ago you asked loads of people what the hexcode was etc. So basically your a ''kiddo''.

That's kinda what you usually do. Just ask hexcodes and segments and all. But yes, he should say something about the game.

Thank you!

As for the lights, I just carefully readjust over and over to get the right look Everyone has their own style.

As for the mod, I switch between Fenix and PB for no particular reason^^

Um, I'm actually not using any of Kraven's media in this game The segments are mostly those of Doomster, AdrianOnline, and Wolf.

Bloody James, which e-mail did you send your message to? The support e-mail or my normal pwp address? Because I didn't get anything.

So, sorry I haven't posted new screens yet, have been pretty busy today.

I replaced the door in this screen to make it seem more fitting:

And these two are the same room, just taken at different angles:

Development of level two is going kind of slow. I'm still planning things out

Post all screens you make of level 3

@Wolf, yeah, ironic. I just didn't think of the design of the level and always wondered, "hmph, why doesn't this room look right? am I bad?" Thanks

@PekelaarSFX, Thank you O_O

Bloody James will be posting screens of level three while I post more of lvl 2. Thanks for everyone who has offered their help!

Here's a small update. Pipe room number one - one of many to indicate that you're approaching the core.

This is like my prized room. It just makes me tingle...

I also liked this effect in the game. Where a chain loop is holding pipes up as if someone placed them there in a hurry or in laziness.

Cheers

Ah, I was worried about that. The range used to be a lot lower. Guess
I have to either:

A) Add another light. But that'll ruin the whole fence shadow effect.

B) Increase the range even more. Don't see too many negatives with that one...

I'll have to decide later.

Place an almost totaly black light,it will slightly brighten up your shadows so you will be able to see stuff but still have shadows

There are,in many places Diagonal lights...as i can see in my petshop near my house they putted a neon tube diagonally, maybe its for the confortability and space of the wire for not it to hang from the ceiling, maybe hurting someone
anyway Thanks and thanks Zay

I just think the diagonal light looks out of place. It would actually look more deatiled if the wire were to hang. (because I think you were going for a grunge look, at least that's what I got from it)

Looks good, but i believe u found a good ambience style of desigining, and based your whole game on that, wich lead to a monotone desigin.
Dont get me wrong, if you would just do some rooms like that, than that would be okay.
But i dont believe it is approciated to make your game all the way one thing. For the same reason those screens could be just one room. Maybe you could expand your color palatte. To find some other binding colors.

Anyway, the screens you GOT, do look very good. And I even thought u had a Ambience Oclusion going on in the first 2 screens.

Keep it up,

Red Eye

Good point - I've been trying to stray away from that type of repetitiveness too much. I wanted the rooms to look similar while gradually changing as you travel closer to the core.

Some new screens, production has been slow - I've been planning out the level design because like Zay said - it has to be fun, too.

I tried to improve the lighting in this room...

The next two are HUGE wip's as I'm trying to fill them a bit more. The one with the fences and the light - for some reason, I had a whole bunch of pipes in that room, yet when I loaded the fpm, they were gone:S I didn't do anything, so I have to replace them...

Cheers

PwP

Occlusion? I tried to texture that in lol. No effects, are you talking about the door?

I think that you should change the lights, maybe retexturethem so that there are a bunch of bugs in them (like streetlights) and maybe make some particles or something with little brown dots moving around to simulate bugs flying around it. Just my 2 cents. Your game looks very awesome by the way. also where do you gat the mesh fence things? are they in a model pack

It's a good idea, but there are two problems:

A) I can texture in bugs fine, just black dots. Yet particles would be difficult as I can't make decals (yet)

B) It doesn't seem realistic - there are no openings to the world except for... wait, the window in the first level. Nevermind then!

As for the fences, I asked Bloody James the same question. They're part of Cosmic Prophet's Country Time pack. Just search for 'country time' and you'll find it quickly

I could probably make the decal for you if you want (and retexture the light) It might be a little tricky in making them move like they are supposed too but ill try

Also, the bugs wouldnt be black, but a light brown, because they would be illuminated by the light. I meant to say a light brown anyway. Kind of like moths.

Really? Thank you! That'd be very generous. And yes, brown would seem more fitting indeed I have to find a way to repay everyone who's been helping me with The Exposure somehow...

So, small update...

I'm intentionally not trying to go for an all out grunge/broken look, yet a 'slightly' abondoned effect. Whereas, it seems under not necessarily poor maintenance, yet not ok maintenance either. Also, I try to keep it slightly clean.

As I finish level 2, you start to proceed even further underground where you find out that the power plant's company had other horrible experiments under way under the facility. And that facility, isn't abondoned...

top quality work, PWP, it's easily navigable by a player just walking through, yet it's fairly detailed looking. (I suggest a slight bit more detail in the second photo)

Looks awesome, but I would still propably like it better if you were using segment doors, that are static, instead of entity doors. Entity doors just don't look that good.

(Off-Topic) Thank you Coach Shogun for the new Avatar and Signature! They're awesome!
