Now I know it's really late and all, but I'll give this a shot. I really can't tell what you mean by "fuzzy sound". You're probably refering to the background noise you get when you record a sound. Audacity has a really great feature in "Effects->Noise Removal". Select an "empty" portion of the recording, and use that, clicking the "Get Noise Profile Button". Then select everything and use the "Remove Noise" button.

You can amplify the sounds from "Effects->Amplify".

I'd be surprised if you hadn't solved it by now, but hey...
