right clicking only works on the wallpaper, taskbar, and on folders. If I were to right click on a file nothing happens.

what causes this? I googled for it but no results. Please don't link me to microsoft again.

the right click menu is there, it just isnt showing. If I right click on something and click where I think the menu thing would be, it presses an option that should be showing.

EDIT: Another error, explorer.exe won't close after it frose (but everything disappeared), and once I restarted the process using task manager I can no longer open My Computer. As I am writing this, the start menu froze over this post.

I did a virus scan, no viruses found. (Avast)

this is very annoying

thanks

You are clearly too stupid to realise some very obvious truths:

- We don't want your threads about problems. Ask the developer, the manufacturer, anything. One or two threads here is OK but you post reels of problems here

- Your computer is very likely a zombie or infected with something. I've said this before, I'm certain: If your machine is infected badly enough, you cannot trust the results of your antivirus. Because I hope you can hazard a guess at what a virus or trojan goes about shutting down first....

Reformat already. If you already have, re-evaluate the applications you're installing when you do. If any of them are warez or otherwise, you could be reformatting and reinstalling an infection each time

I'm with David R on this (apart from the unnecessary insult). Do a backup, reformat, and then reinstall the applications you need along with good AV and firewall software. Do not install any software downloaded with torrenting/filesharing software since a lot of it contains malware. The same applies for keygens and the like.

And then register on the Microsoft forums and post any further problems you have there.

1.Your antivirus is CRAPPY! Get something decent like Nod32 or Bitdefender
2.Make sure you have enough RAM and you aren't running 2000 apps
3.Restart your PC as you obviously haven't (freezed My Computer)
4.If nothing works,FORMAT

I'm also with David R. COMPLETELY re-format your hard drive and reinstall Windows, being very wary on exactly what it is you're re-installing. Don't re-install anything that you downloaded for free or from torrents, because like Benjamin said they're generally full of malware.

And then register on the MICROSOFT forums and post any further questions THERE.

Hating on or defending specific brands of antivirus is a silly and pointless activity.

Except with norton, everyone agrees there.

Anyway, prevention is always the best method, your not aquianted with it of course but you know that. Your the most fault - moan - prone person ive met. Go figure it out, Google is a amazing resource. Did you know that it can provide answers for nearly everything, For Free?

It sounds like you're riddled with viruses...

You have a problem every other week, why don't you treat your computer with a bit of respect, nurture it like a baby, not mistreat it like a cheap whore in a back alley hotel...

That's what I tried to say in his last thread...no one listened.

I think your being a little too rough though. No need to insult him, someone just give him a slap or a ban!

I don't think it's really up to us to decide if a member deserves a ban or not...however, seeing all of those locked threads and dealing with a new complaint thread from him every other week is getting rather tiring.

GamerDude: If you want to become a well-respected member here, you've seriously got to adjust your ways. You need to stop coming on here only to complain, and if you have a serious technical problem, contact that product's manufacturer, NOT Geek Culture. Yeah, we're a lot of geeks, but it doesn't mean we can tell you how to fix your Hotmail accounts. Pretty much the only advice anybody can offer you at this point is to adjust your ways of posting on here, and to wipe your hard drive and reinstall Windows. Your computer is most likely a zombie as David R. said. If that's true, then it will have targeted your anti-virus software first and make it so that it doesn't recognize it.

There are all kinds of Zombie-Viruses out there, the majority of which seem to come from false video postings on facebook. Someone posts an "amazing" video that "you've just got to see!" on your wall, you click on it, and BAM!, it takes you to a totally unexpected site which downloads the virus to your computer, and gives you pretty much all of the symptoms you've listed.

So. Re-format your hard drive, and then go from there. If you're still having problems even after that, you've seriously got to realize that you need to stop downloading things through untrustable torrents and websites. Maybe pick up reading instead, I've heard that's a rather nice hobby.

I am not breaking the rules asking for help. So why don't you people who don't like my threads just ignore them? Yep - simple solution.

I restarted and played with a few settings. It seemed to work. Right click was bugged for a little while more, until I reinstalled the drivers (2nd last thing I would have done).

Now, like I said, if you don't like my threads just ignore them.

thanks
