First of all, I bought it.
Its shipping or waiting approval, I saw`some cool things about it.
Genres:
[/b]HORROR

[/b]WAR

[/b]SPACE

[/b]CARTOON

There's more, I just have to do more research, and mabye get a game-pad for the ol' PC.

I can't wait until it comes in the mail!

I might make a shooter with a horror themed map!

Enjoy

I think you will be very dissapointed once you recieve it. Its got no freedom to build levels and stuff, just select what will be used,it will generate a random level that is usually almost the same as the previous one then you will complete it in 1 minute.

You're going to love it.
Seriously guys, you can slag off 3DGM all you like, but at the end of the day, this guy seems quite young and not very mature or experienced in the game field. That opportunity to knock a game out in 30 minutes will be enough to fuel his passion for game development, thus moving on to more complex packages. How many of you jumped straight into DBPro expecting to create something of equal calibre to a 3DGM game and how long did it really take you to achieve this? At least he is starting off small.

..Whether he joined up yesterday with a name expressing his love for a program he does not yet own, buying a 10 year old program and then writing a poorly written post about what he is going to do with this program when it does arrive, he still has that passion and excitement we all got when we first realised we could all make our own games...

I think t3dgm was the first spark of "making my own games? Cool!"

It wsa so bad and useless I was put off the idea for a while, then I found FPS Creator.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because of the forum's stupidly tiny restrictions, along with other things such as lack of automatic image resizing, and lack of embedding videos.

Thanks, I was looking at FPS Creator too. I should get the bonanza while it lasts.
I once gave up on my dreams to create a game, but The 3D Game Maker helped to bring it back (FPSC too).
Thanks for your support.
I should try DBPro, but I'm not much of a coder. If I get there I'll get all the DARK products (Dark AI, Dark Physics, Dark Shading, Dark voices, Dark Matter, etc.)

Yep, that's what I did. DBP wasn't around back then, but I jumped straight to DBC, and honestly it took me about 3 years to make something decent. I guess it took that long because I jumped straight to 3D as well, and made nothing 2D...

I heard you can make multiple levels!
I'm really intrested in the shooter genre.

... I've played games (platformers)that I have fell of stuff, but I've grown older. I chose this so I can just Exercise creativity, plus I'm lazy.
I can play much better, *TRUE STORY* I've did this thing with my dad called "Sit with papa" and we were playing soul caliber. I beat him when I was only 2! it was on the dreamcast.
And my dad was so exited he said: "He was born to do this!"
So I was playing the gamecube when I was older and I played platformers, and I fell off a lot. When I grew up I had more expierience to play better (so I won't fall a lot).

Of course I know math!
I am mature! I don't laugh at farts, they are rude and annoying.
I am also a gentlemen

I think you can run The 3D Game Maker on Vista, I saw a video that shows that d3drm.dll is missing, but you can download it, and drag it into the System32 folder and it works like it should!

Its a file that is required to run the Game Maker/Engine
I noticed that 2D Game Development tools are called "Builders" or "Makers"
and 3D Game Development tools are called "Engines"
they called it "The 3D Game Maker" so kids would know what it does, because they might not get why they call it an "engine"

The engine is more the base on which a game runs... check up "game engine" on wikipedia mayhap; all computer games, be they 2d or 3d, have something you could call an engine.
And the engine has nothing directly to do with creating a game. That's usually done with what's called an "editor". More often than not there might be several editors for creating one singular game and a lot of game mechanics might be predefined outside of the editor(s) as well (ie. in the engine code).

Well, anyway, welcome to the forums and enjoy your product(s)

3DGM is ok.

You can use it to build a couple of fun maps and move on to FPSC once you've reached its limitations. Also you could still use the media from it in your FPSC games so it won't be a waste of money.

Good luck with your gaming endevours and have lots of fun!

The only thing T3DGM gave me was 2 models I eventually loaded into the random BSP test map that came with DBP back when I was learning to code. (I went straight through 3D, got the hang of it just about then went back to 2D because I realised I needed to understand how to do HUDs in DBP after being used to the 2D interface of The Games Factory)

But those 2 models definitely helped me understand how to load objects into DBP

Also, why are people buying T3DGM? - Me and Joeeigel saw it in PC world for 94p so we assumed it would be free nowadays just like DBP.

I mean, DBP is free, but T3DGM isn't? - Well, that's messed up.

Wouldn't surprise me if the price is still there because of whatever agreements they have regarding the media.

What happened??? Was there a problem? Hmmm.... Is there a "History of The Game Creators" page? If so, I would like to read it!

I'm exited!
I also like FPS Creator, I should get the bonanza.
Quick Question:
Can you the Model pack Items (FPS Creator model packs) in The 3D Game Maker?
If so, can you use the DarkMATTER Model packs too?
Thanks for your support

Sorry, I forgot "use" in between "you" and "the" before

I wanted to know if you can use those model packs available, because it could expand the amount of models in The 3D Game Maker.
I like the videos of The 3D Game Maker so much, that I get a thrill out of seeing the trailer!
I watched it more than 10 times when I was waiting (I'm still waiting), I heard the program is like 10 years old, but its still fun!
Its so fun to even watch the videos!

hey, 3dgm is kinda fun, but after awhile it gets boring, no free roam, crappy guns, Little models, but it is good for your mind and creativity, should've tried a trial before you got it, there is a few out there

If you're into game making, I think t3dgm is the first thing you should get. Its the thing that made me want to make my own games and am now getting along alright with DBPro and am waiting to start an apprenticeship to fund a game dev diploma. I think you'll love it for a short while, but ultimately get bored due to massive constraints as to what you can do with it. If you want to be able to make full on games with almost no boundaries you have to learn how to code, but when you do make that step, DBPro is the simplest most powerful and dynamic language/engine I've come across. Also, FPSC is brilliant if you've got creativity, though it can take a LONG time to actually compile a level just to test it.
