people call me a geek\nerd because im slightly smarter than most other people in my school and have a huge vocabulary as some people dont even have the word vocabulary in theirs.

...In all honesty, I think you are holding yourself to a very, very low bar in that case.

I'm on the TGC forums?

Most of my friends are geeks. On top of my monitor there are 4 mangas and a book on learning Old Norse. I practice my evil laugh with the intention that some day I'll be an evil overlord. The word 'quasar' excites me and I tend to describe one as, "a totally awesome black-hole that fires laser beams". When I found a nuclear bunker for sale on Ebay, my reaction was to draw up plans for how I'd use it as an advantage to my world domination. I dance to the Pokemon theme tune...perhaps I shouldn't have admitted that.

But of course, I redeem myself, because I'm on a horse!

"in the land of the blind, the one eye'd man is king" ring a bell? He's saying that, although you're smarter than those around you, it doesn't mean they're not at the same intellectual level as a sloth.

You leave your computer for meals?!?!

The fact that I have about 6T worth of HDDs sitting around and thats just in plane sight, not in cases, not counting my closet, and not counting what's inside my desktop. that I built.

Before I throw away anything electronic I have to take it apart and see what I can take out and "use later" which normaly ends up piled up in my junk drawers.

Oh, and the fact I still have army buddies all over the world still calling me or emailing me when they have problems with their computers.

I didn't start out this way.. up until a couple years ago, I hated computers or anything Techy..

Haha. When Halo 1 came out, I stood around(in game) and stared at the textures to try and figure out the bump mapping... Haha. My friends would get mad at me for not playing.

If life were like a box of chocolates, I'd know what I would get... The one that got dropped on the floor and put back in the box.

The biggest seller for me would probably be having a 'valued member' badge, on a programming forum

I'm not the biggest nerd in my school, but almost. I'm a hardcore nerd but I keep it to myself. This other guy wears braces, looks like a hunchback and paces a lot. Basically, his definition of 'social life' is talking to randoms about internet memes.

He's just straight southern. Now I'M a redneck lol. A California redneck that is.

And I really wouldn't call myself a nerd/geek. I used to be that's for sure. I played a lot of WoW in my prime lol. Now I rarely play games and spend most of my time shooting critters and drinking lol.

Frequent all nighters to:
-get/beat that last level
-mindlessly tweak one fractal until I'm satisfied
-continue coding
-debug
-waste away insomnia with random internets
-spend 90% of it on vent with people doing the same thing

Or doing all of the above, even without the frequent all nighters.

Sometimes I'm surprised I have a social life But, unless it's paid work, social life usually comes first, so I guess it's not too terribly surprising.

I guess that my biggest would be that I named my second son Terran as I was so darn addicted to Starcraft (would have been Kerrigan if it was a girl). Don't think the wife would have gone for naming him Protoss.

I had Faye Wong's Eyes on Me from FFVIII playing at my wedding. I haven't played the game, so I'm not sure if it directly qualifies me as a geek

Mate, you're a programmer who's worked for EA and Nokia and moderate games programming forum, that's geeky enough.

Regardless, it's a good song.
