I was talking to my comp sci teacher about my favorite computer/nerd related stuff, and I thought it would be really cool to see what other people think.
My favorites:
(1) Recursion
[href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quicksort]quicksort
[/href]
stuff like this

(2) Quadtrees
Like this one (java applet)

(3) neural networks
like this

(4) Genetic Algorithms
like this

(5) multi/n dimensional stuff
like this

(6) Crowd simulations
Be it ants or mobs of people, it's awesome.

(7) Matrices
Well... I'm not great at them... and I don't totally understand them... but I think they're amazing. Example.

(8) zombies
I guess this expands a bit on my love of crowd stuff.

Yeah. I've spent days looking into each of these topics, cuz i love 'em so much.

I like zombies too =)
then it goes like this:
1- assembly code
2- binary/hexadecimal
3- getting Linux to run on ANYTHING
4- anything educational, when I rarely watch TV its usually a documentary
5- doctor who. I only started watching it after David tenant, but I've fallen in love with it so far =)
6- movies that demonstrate how human nature can be a very bad thing
7- comics. I love reading comics
8- circuitry. I'm on an electronics course, so naturally I love anything to do with electronics
9- Trading card games (currently yu-gi-oh)

and on an interesting side note, I have a paranoia/phobia of zombies actually happening and always hope there's not one outside in the dark. =)
